Journal - Clue hunting
[Warded to Dean/Susan]

Please tell me your clue is in any way useful because mine means heading for the books. It's about a sculptor I'm not at all familiar with:

Around the door wherein your treasure lies
George Alexander's sculptures guard your prize

From that I've got that he's inside, but that's about it. I'm looking up George Alexander now. I might have to suck it up and ask Cadmus, I'm not familiar with sculpture.

Ooooh, see I got:

Though venom will surround you as you pass
You'll be kept safe my panes of muggle glass

I feel like he might be talking about snakes (my great detective skills) and was struck by the memory of the fact that Saint Patrick banished the snakes from Ireland?

I also have this vague childhood memory of my Muggle Aunt taking me and Edgar somewhere as kids? Some sort of garden with lots of animals?

You mean a zoo. Lots of captive animals being looked after by humans so people can see them, I'll explain better another time.

Probably a reptile house in a zoo, but there have to be hundreds of them in the UK. We could start with London since it's not too far?

Cadmus wasn't helpful since the guy is a muggle. Or maybe was.

I'm going to ring Jess and get her to search the internet. Having a hard time with books.

Yes! Merlin that was a completely dumb moment. Zoological Garden, I mean magizoology should have given me a clue right?

I just bribed one of my colleagues with a donut and a kiss on the cheek and apparently there is a really famous reptile house at the London zoo?

Shall we meet there?

Let's go for it. Jess said the internet wasn't so helpful apart from telling her the zoo has a reptile house.

Also, that is very cheap bribery.

See you asap.
