Do you know that feeling where you are doing something, perhaps you are painting the floor of a very large room like a dining room for hundreds of children, and you think that you are almost done, until you realize that you didn't just miss a spot, in the heat of the moment, you missed the most important spot of all, just in front of the most important table where someone is sure to notice.

And so now you have to hurry back across the paint, getting messier and messier as you go to do it all again, only with less paint to work with this time, and more trouble if you get it wrong.

That is how I feel right now, except that there is more at stake than paint and an orphanage floor. There is a ship, and an encryption key that must be returned or traded, and passage money to pay the ones who smuggled me out, and very many other things as well.

Who could have predicted that playing poker would lead to so many complications?

I am very tired.

And now that I have left that system, I hate that I must return.

But perhaps I will wait, and see if any other solution presents itself. Perhaps if I am patient and do not rush in just because I have forgotten something, the paint will dry before the matron returns, and everything can be fixed without as much trouble as it seems!

It is possible, is it not?
