So...um, how are you feeling?

I know Barry offered to run people around, but if anyone wants me to teleport them from inside to inside, I can do that too.

Is there anyone else here who doesn't eat meat? I'm just curious, I mean, I'm not going to judge you if you do or anything like that. I was kind of just wondering if anyone had any recipes...because it's hard to be a vegetarian in primitive-land.

I talked to Lagertha, and she gave me some ideas about how to make flour. If we have flour, we could have all sorts of things. Assuming anyone here knows how to bake?

So the work in the garden is really satisfying, and I think we've got a lot of good out of it. The gods have given us a lot of different seeds, and we're really getting a variety of stuff out of it. I'm especially looking forward to the basil, oregano, cilantro, and other herbs that we've been growing. They're going to really add to the quality of the food.

But a question. Does anyone know how to mill wheat into flour or corn into corn meal? I mean, I know it can be done, but I don't have a clue how. It would be nice to have the ability to make breads and stuff like that. I suppose we could use the river and do it the old fashioned way? It can't be that hard to build a mill, can it?

Hey, how are things?

So...I'm afraid I kind of got off on the wrong foot last time. So I'm going to start over, if you guys'll let me.

So my name's Eight. Well, that isn't my name, obviously, but I don't know what my name actually is, so Eight works. I was born on the planet Lorien which was destroyed when I was just a kid but the Elders were able to save nine of us and send us to Earth. Like Superman. Except, I can't fly.

I can, however, shapeshift and teleport, which I think is better anyway.

So, hey again, everyone. What can I do to help?

I wanted to let you all know that the garden is doing amazingly well right now. We harvested quite a lot today so there are plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables in the main camp area. Please eat up before they go bad!

Right, so, good. Glad to see that everyone's having such a good time this week. Yay sex, amirite?

But I was kind of hoping also we could have a serious conversation as a community. Because we are a community, right? We're not just a bunch of people gathering here to go our own ways, we're in this together and we need to work together to get things done. At least, that was what I thought when I agreed to come here.

So. Ruby said something about it last week, and I'm going to bring it up again this week. We have several projects ongoing, right? What's left with the medical center? If I'm right we have our first babies arriving in about two weeks and we need to be ready for that.

Also, someone was working on a sewer system, right? Were they sent home? Not glamorous work but I'm definitely willing to help with that.

What else? What else do we need done? What do we need to make this island the kind of place we all want to live?

So as I've told some of you, I have the ability to teleport. And the past few days I've been using that ability to explore the island a little. I've found a lot of beautiful beaches, and more waterfalls, and coves that look good for fishing. I've also found some places that look good for settlements in the future, depending on how quickly our population grows.

My question is - do you think we should stay where we are, in the main campsite for now, and spread out only when we need to, or should we start another settlement? I'm not exactly sure how far it is because I didn't walk it, but from what I can tell about the shape and size of the island, it couldn't take more than an hour to walk it.

Everything here is different to where I'm from (and when I'm from). I'm from Los Angeles California in 1974, where things are groovy and neat-o and far out. But I'd like to hear about people from other times and other places. Feeling kind of homesick and I'd like to hear about other people's homes.

I hate to be a bother as a new arrival. But could I trouble someone for a bit of alcohol? I seemed to have not estimated my dependence on the substance and I'd very much like to get my hands to stop shaking. and the sweating, oh god the sweating. I don't even have deodorant here

I've gathered a couple dozen eggs so far. Do we have any wild boar left? I'm thinking bacon and eggs for breakfast tomorrow.

With the roofing materials the gods sent yesterday, we ought to have the medical facility finished by the end of the week, even with less hands helping build.

We should figure out our next order of business. We've been talking about a sewer system and a community center. Has anyone started working on plans for the sewage and plumbing yet? We only have one piece of heavy machinery and two shovels, so I don't think all of us will be able to work on that, though I suppose we could work on laying pipes and whatever else is involved as the digging is happening. This really isn't my area of expertise, so I'm hoping someone here has a better idea how this all works.
