I'm not a fan of islands but at least no one is trying to kill me on this one yet

Well... this was a bit unexpected. I had not expected the climate to be so tropical, but it is quite lovely here.

Though I should probably introduce myself while I am on here.I am Mei Ling Zhou from the group Overwatch. I've come here to help with what I can in hopes of building a better tomorrow. My expertise lays with engineering and ecological studies. I have high hopes that we can get along and bring about a future that is much brighter than the past.

It has come to my attention, thanks to a discussion with the lovely Felicity, that we could use a potential blacksmith here. After all, this is a very wet, and humid climate meaning the metal and tools we use will rust quickly; meaning they'll lose their consistency and begin to chip easily. So I think I'm going to begin plans for building a blacksmithy. I figure others will want to help, and I'll be glad for it as it will take a bit of time.

But, it'll allow us to build more complicated tools, as well as repair ones. Shears, hammers, even swords and shields but those are likely not as necessary. Long knives for cutting foliage, axes for gathering more wood. I imagine, that at some point, the gods and goddesses will stop just giving us materials, as they expect us to build our own society. So being self-sufficient will be necessary.

I'd like to try to build it close to a river, as well as a decent distance away from town just in case the forge has any problems. I don't need a large building for it, just a roof over the top, only thing that really matters is the forge itself, an anvil, and a way to heat things up considerably. I don't know much about blacksmithing, but I've seen it done quite a bit, and I know I have good hands that allow me to be accurate, so I know I can do it. It MAY take some practice though, but anyway... I think it'd be helpful.

After I'm done with helping with the chickens and animals tomorrow, it'll be a pretty easy day hopefully, if anyone needs any help with their shelters, or digging for the sewers, or what have you, I'm definitely up for helping. Just point me in the right direction.

So...I had my baby for Arva, and helped Stiles have his baby for Arva.

What now? What do I do now for the island? I mean, I could have four babies a year I guess but I kind of don't want to.

You know, it is a lot easier to arrive when you know when you're coming instead of surprise. I'd have worn better shoes. Six inch heels are not the perfect footwear for here.

I wasn't sure if there were any canoes/boats about here, and so after I'm done with some of the animals, I was going to head out to the beach after collecting up some wood and go to work on building a possible fishing vessel. Because getting out further from land is where a lot of fish are going to be, away from the disruption of people.

I think it's wonderful how people here are able to look past things like jealousy and possessiveness in order to be with more than one person. Nobody has gotten angry, or caused fights about it, or treated their partners (men or women) like things.

This isn't really something I'm used to. For people who know my story, I was treated like a piece of property, and Achilles looking at me that way and throwing a tantrum over not having what was 'his' is what eventually led to his downfall.

The thing is, I'm not very good at getting out and meeting people. Even though I'd like to!

So...I'm from Lyrnessus, which was a city-state in Troy. I was married there when I was sixteen, to the King. Achilles destroyed my home a few years later, killed my family, and took me as his prize. But I don't want to think about the past - I'm far more interested in the future.

So! I would like to get to know people, men and women (although I'm only interested in being...uh...intimate with men) for friends and lovers.

Alright, so a tiny bit of an issue. I was looking at some of your materials, and the wood and what not looks to make sense but uh... what exactly is electricity? Or for that matter... plumbing? I'm not sure how this whole thing works.

Next is, I guess it's about getting to work. I don't know everything you've accomplished here so far, I'm not entirely caught up yet, but I am willing to help with anything you need. Where I was from, I did a lot of help herding the cattle on our ranch, I'm good on a horse, with a sword, and a bow; also, I'm pretty good with animals. I'm definitely not against heavy lifting either, really I'll do anything.

As for the other stuff, well, I uh... I've never, well I'm here, definitely here, and super ready to get to work so point me in the direction you need me.
