Hell, the rain is gloomy. Spent most of my life on a nocturnal schedule and I guess I never realized just how much you come to love the sun.

Anyone here who can light fires when it's raining? Might be nice to have a bonfire somewhere, if we could keep it from going out. It would definitely brighten things up a little.

Okay, so I've been thinking since the bonfire that right now, all we really have going for entertainment is...sex. I mean, don't get me wrong, that's great and yeah, we can go swimming and stuff, but I was thinking after talking to Finnick about Ultimate Frisbee and soccer and how I have no idea how to craft nature's equivalent of a Frisbee or a ball that would work for soccer, but there's other stuff, right?

And I got thinking about this little game my sister and I had when we were kids, like a bean bag toss and that would be really easy to replicate. We'd just have to make the boards and then someone who can sew would just have to make the six little sacks that we could fill with sand instead of beans. It's not the most fun game of all time, but it's not too bad, either. That line of thought reminded me of all the other little games we played that didn't require equipment at all, like Capture the Flag.

And then I was also thinking about the time my college buddies and I went out to my roommate's lake house and how we made up dumb games to play out on the floating platform his dad made and anchored out a little ways in the lake and we could totally do that, too.

I know the medical facility is first priority, obviously, and I don't want to take man hours away from that, but I also think benign fun is important, too, to keep morale up, right? Would anybody be interested in helping me work on a couple of side projects to that effect in the down time before we start construction and maybe in the evenings...? Or, you know, feel free to tell me to shut up because that's all lame as fuck, too, there's always that option, as well haha.

I'm thinking that we should perhaps keep track of who has slept with whom and who is conceiving with whom? Also, there was some prior discussion about keeping those that we reproduce with to a maximum of two to protect the gene pool?

Everyone else is paving the way so I'm hopping on board. I'm a werewolf. An Alpha I don't change into a wolf like Malia changed into a coyote. Kind of more like your typical wolfman. Fangs. Claws. Super strong and fast. I heal most injuries pretty quickly. I've got it under control so no freaking out on the full moon.

Arva said it would be safe and I don't really feel like playing any bullshit games, so right out of the gate: I'm a werewolf. No, I can't turn you and I wouldn't even if I could. No, I don't turn into a killing machine on the full moon. Yes, I can completely control myself. Yes, I can turn into an actual wolf, so if you're hunting and you see a big black wolf in the jungle, please do not shoot it; that hurts and I'd rather you didn't. I think that probably covers the werewolf FAQ?

What it also means is that I'm strong, fast, heal a hell of a lot faster than people do, have heightened senses, I can hunt for food, and I can transfer pain. What's that mean? You get hurt, I siphon out the pain; I heal a lot faster than you will and everybody's happy and safe.

Questions for me? I have a question for you...where's the main camp? Is there one established yet or no?

Aaaaand, I'm done. Right down to the fireplace. ...we'll see how well it holds up the first time it rains, if it ever does, but for right now, I'm feeling pretty accomplished. You should come out and see it.

So I've collected some liquorice root (teeth cleaning) and made mouthwash (lavender, rosemary, mint). Currently in the process of trying to create some natural deodorant. Will update when finished. If anyone is interested in any of this, come see me, I've got enough to share.

Wow, I'm starting to wonder why they brought me here with all of you guys. I have no doctorates, but if anybody needs help lugging stuff around, I've probably got that.

I made some soap. I figured that I couldn't be the only one in desperate need of a bath. It's not luxurious or anything, but it will get the job done and I added some orange juice to half of the batch and some lavender to the other half. It still needs a couple of weeks to dry completely, but if you don't mind it being a little wet and dissolving quickly, it can be used now. I'll keep making more so we can build up a good supply.

Also, has anyone figured out if we have any birth control options here? I mean, yeah, I know they want us to have babies, but they can't expect us to be constantly pregnant, right?

Hi. My name is Sydney. I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be here a trained chemist and have been fixing cars since I was little, so I'm fairly mechanically inclined. I definitely want to contribute however I can without having sex so please let me know where my skills will be most useful.

The food storage containment is finished, thanks to a lot of help from others. If you find food you can put it in there, it's right outside of the main group of shelters that have been built. Sara is awesome and she's thinking about making a smokehouse, so I suggest if you find something, clean it and smoke it first. It'll last longer.

I've made fishing traps by the shore for those of you who aren't great hunters. It's a large group of rocks in a v formation in the water, when the tide comes in so do the fish and when it goes out they get trapped behind the rock wall so they'll be easier to catch, since they'll be in a confined space. So if you see stones lined up by the water, do me a favor and don't move them.

We should seriously consider building some loft beds. It'll be complicated and we'll have to find strong enough wood, but we shouldn't be sleeping on the ground no matter where our shelters are. Snakes, bugs, all that fun stuff, are best avoided. If I'm coming off as bossy tell me, that's not what I'm trying to do, I just want to help. If anyone needs anything I just finished with those fishing traps so I'm available!
