Paradiso is an oc-friendly, panfandom game set in the middle of a social experiment being conducted by the higher powers of the island in an attempt to re-establish civilization. Characters will awaken on the island and will have no initial access to a steady food supply, electricity, hot water, or any other creature comforts; they will need to build, maintain, and expand their own working society with the supplies they can find and the skills they possess. Over time, if the gods and goddesses favor their "volunteers," they may offer some creature comforts along the way with a little touch of magic.

It is a sex game that will have adult situations and occasional mod-prompted plots.

Okay, so this is super weird but I woke up yesterday remembering more than I did today. Like, a lot more.

What do people remember from back home. Does anyone remember the Dread Doctors? The Dead Pool? Teenage Derek...?

And the pattern continues, but I bet still no one will notice it and therefore no one will actually say what deserves to be said whether we like it or not: thank you, Jackson, for being a whiny bitch. Now we can crank out this septic system in less than our entire lifetimes combined Well, looks like the Christmas Monday tradition continues on full force, huh? Anybody know how to drive this thing? Isaac, you would know, right? You'd have to use something like this to dig graves, right, you didn't just drive the dumb thing around all night on your shift, you actually had to use it, no?

LARISSA.
I got a bed, finally. ...would you like to stay tonight?

MALIA.
How are you feeling today? Do you need anything?

Hey yo, are we doing this bonfire thing tonight again? My baby has never been to a proper bonfire, so if I need to make that shit happen all by myself, I will, dammit. But it'd be a whole lot better if the rest of you were there, too, just for the record. Last weekend was a good one. One more time, with style?

To those of you who still don't have beds, if you've been having trouble sleeping I'm sure that we can start building hammocks for you or something. It's looking like everybody might get one eventually? I don't want to assume but they're coming in waves, it's weird.

I also feel like we should start trying to do more little stuff to show the gods and goddesses we appreciate what they're doing for us. I'm kind of coming up with a blank for suggestions though... I'm not usually the guy who comes up with the ideas. Any suggestions? They don't seem like he kind who would be too thrilled with sacrifice so I think it's safe to say that's off the table.

Except for the scary one. He'd probably be up for it.
If you can read this I didn't mean that you're my favorite?

ARVA.
You're probably frustrated today. I'm sorry. You don't have to respond, I just wanted to let you know that I left something for you by the waterfall a little north of us. It's kind of awful and it's the third one I tried to make since I saw you and I know you probably can't use it and I know it's stupid I just thought you'd like it, maybe. You don't have to take it if you don't want to.

MALIA.
I think the gods gave me these prenatal vitamins, I found them. I want you to start taking them, okay? They'll be good for you and the baby. How are you feeling? I wanted to know if you would be up for seeing one of the doctors, just for a check up. I've been talking to them but I don't want to make any solid plans until I know if you'd prefer a male or a female doctor.

LYDIA.
I'm going to start cooking in about half an hour, unless that's too early. I'm really looking forward to
It's getting more ridiculous every day

CHRIS.
Hey so, when you don't want to be an adult anymore, how do you find the off switch? I'm asking for a friend.

Music. I'm starting to realize that one of the few things I really miss here is music. Working 12 hour days would probably be a lot less demanding if we actually had something to help us unwind at night.

DEREK.
I shouldn't have snapped at you
I sounded just like him. I sounded just fucking like him

I'm sorry.

CHESTER.
Tell me you're alright? I'm just checking in.

LYDIA.
I need you right now
Hey Marilyn. How are you feeling? What are you doing right now
Can you
Can I
Can we figure this out please because I can't handle more

You know, if I wasn't so good at working with what I've got, I might be a bit put out that I haven't been included in the bed-getting yet. Guess the gods don't think I need the beauty sleep anymore.

The razors are appreciated though, I haven't had a mustache since the 70s and in retrospect that was almost more regrettable than the mutton chops. And if anyone who wasn't quite so lucky needs a good shampoo and condition, I think I've got enough to spare for awhile.

So it looks like in addition to a most-appreciated bed, our gods left me some razors this morning.

Since I've never actually used them before, if anyone else has greater need, they're certainly welcome to a few. It's hard to appreciate Sex Island when I keep running into things twelve year olds have figured out

Hey, guess who finally got a bed? This guy. So if anyone needs my old hammock, you're welcome to it.

I also got some real work boots, which is nice, because construction in sandals is asking for trouble. And some other protective gear, because obviously the gods agree that I'm too pretty to get hurt.

[Briseis]
If you've never seen a modern bed before, you really should come check it out. In fact, you should sleep on it tonight and I'll either take the hammock or go elsewhere.

Also, damn you for being right. :) I talked to Lydia like you said and it was fine.

Oh meu, parece que este lugar é cheio de drama. Pelo menos vai ser divertido se você é tudo hediondo.

When she said it was a paradise she wasn't joking. 9/10. I'll be happy to give a perfect score once I'm satisfied with my new neighbors, of course.

And how exactly do I find them from the middle of nowhere?

You're off duty after work on the building today. Go to the bonfire, go take a nap; go jack off in the woods for all I care...but I'm going to stay with Malia for the night so she and I can do so much needed catching up. You need a break, especially after that clusterfuck in your post last night which, by the way, I'm sorry I didn't step into, but I thought you might prefer the space to the hovering.

Malia and I already talked, she's on board. I'm kicking you out of your shelter for the night so you can get some rest. You're welcome to use mine if you want to sleep or have a girl over or whatever the hell. There's no bed, but it's pushed back in the jungle a ways so at least it'll be quiet, either way. But you need a break from dad duty. I got it tonight. You do you.

When I agreed to come here, the idea of actually having a baby was...just an idea, you know? Sure, I knew I'd go it but it wasn't real. I mean, I was still a virgin when I came here so it had absolutely never crossed my mind to think about it in...detail. But now...it's like a month later and...there's nothing like waking up in the morning to hear that tiny little heartbeat inside of you. My baby is alive. It's real...a tiny little person growing inside of me and I've never wanted to protect anything so much in my whole life. I've never even seen her but I already love her and I can't stop thinking what a wonderful life she's going to have and how beautiful she's going to be and...it's magic. I've never loved anything like this before. I spent eight years all alone not caring about anything but myself and now...

It's magic. I can't wait to meet her.

[Isaac]

Thank you. Just...thank you. I suck at words and feelings and all that but this little baby, she...thank you.

I have never been one for casual, random sex before, but I am starting to see the appeal. It is rather nice to simply be able to enjoy yourself without having to worry about commitment or emotions. And it also seems a rather nice way to get to know someone.

Just my observations. Have other people found the same?

If anyone needs help getting things out of the rain, I'm free to help, since we obviously can't build.

Those of you who hunt - today might be a good day to go, if you don't mind getting a little wet. The grey skies and the rain tend to bring out the animals, and since we got that freezer now we might as well stock up.

Right, so...um. My cave is dry and warm but there's a little creek outside. And it keeps rising. And it's getting closer to the entrance of my cave.

Would anyone let me stay the night?

I don't want to drown in my sleep.

[posted early Monday morning]

Well. It looks like we're doing something right. The gods and goddesses have gifted us with a rather impressive amount of supplies overnight. A quick glance shows me that we have a large amount of lumber, an array of tools, the necessary items to set up electricity, and plumbing supplies.

I suppose they approve of our plan to erect a medical facility since we also got a number of medical supplies, including a portable ultrasound machine.

Who all has experience with construction? I can handle the planning portion and direct the project since I've actually built a cabin and outfitted it with electricity and plumbing before, but I need to know who all here is able to assist and in what ways.

Obviously, I'm willing to help as much as possible and, if necessary, I can transform into my stronger alter ego to help with heavy lifting I hope.

I'm sure that I'm not the only one who very much enjoyed the bonfire last night. There were so many stories about so many worlds that I wished I could be listening to everyone at the same time. I thought it was a fantastic way for us to get to know each other, and I want to thank Finnick for helping to organize it. It was a great success.

I think it is important for us to do everything we can to bring ourselves together as a community. This is our chance to start over and do things right, and getting to know each other and our various skills is invaluable for that.

[Isaac]

...wow. Would you be against making that a somewhat regular occurrence? At least weekly? I have no desire to have children or be in a relationship, but that was...ah, sublime. And I do have more questions for you.

[Bo and Derek]

Hey guys. That was...interesting earlier, and I have no desire to cause offense, but I think perhaps it's better for me if I...just do one-on-one from now on. It's nothing personal, I just don't think I'm...well...comfortable enough to do something like that again. And I really prefer men to girls although that felt pretty amazing, Bo But it was weird, wasn't it?

Hello all. I am Dr. Martha Jones. I've just arrived on the island.

It feels like a proper holiday, doesn't it? With the bluest of skies and the warm water washing up around my feet. I know it's not. We've got work to do, a civilization to help build. And if there's anything that gets my sense of adventure going it's the prospect of saving the world.

Right then, first things first - is there a medical facility set up already on the island? If not that will be one of my first priorities other than meeting everyone, that is.

Who would be interested in having another bonfire this Saturday, but with a twist this time? Ray suggested we have some sort of cultural exchange. The idea is that people would take turns performing or sharing something from their home. Sing a song, teach a dance step, tell a story, that sort of thing. Whatever you want to share with the group.

Of course no one would have to participate in that part if they didn't want to, so don't worry if you have stage fright. No one's going to push you up in front of everyone if you don't want to go!

We thought it would be both entertaining and informative since we're not all from the same time and place.

So are people up for that?

What does everyone think of building some sort of medical facility? It would take time, obviously, but some sort of central location for medical supplies, for emergencies, etc? Useful, or what's the point when those with medical training could make house calls?
