Interesting Friendships
Who: Lindsey and Zee
Where: Wolfram & Hart, Lindsey's Office
When: Tuesday, 11/16, Early Evening
Lindsey himself was relieved to be done with work for the day. He was ready to go home, eat something, and relax. Most of his days were at least ten hour work days, with him getting here between seven and eight in the morning and typically leaving around six. Those were the average days, anyway. Luckily, he wasn't doing much in the courts anymore (his talents had become better suited towards 'other' work), so, unless he was helping someone else out, he could at least predict about when he would be done with work now. It was nice to finally start working his way up in this company. It seemed like he was finally getting somewhere in this place. Nice to think about.
Newly 'reborn', Zee skipped around the Wolfram & Hart offices, dressed in ripped jeans, a white tanktop and a leather jacket, her hair styled wildly. Now... unlike the last time we saw Zee (which was, let's face it, stone cold dead face down in the dirt), she wasn't in NEAR as manic of a mood. She'd had her memories altered to suit W&H purposes, which meant that she was a different kind of animal now.
...She was still a tad unhinged, though.
Knowing who she was, security let her in without a fuss, letting her up to find her sister. She knocked loudly on Lindsey's office door and made her way in, "Hellllllllo handsome! Busy?" She waggled her eyebrows. Oh dear.
He knew that voice as soon as he heard it. He *had* helped with the spells to bring her back and wipe her memory, after all. Holding in a groan, he realized that he wasn't going to get out of here any time soon, since he was supposed to be 'nice' to her. "Hello, Zee," he said to her as she made her way inside, figuring she was likely to raid his liquor cabinet momentarily. "No, I was actually done with work for the day," he told her. "So, not busy."
"Awesomesauce!" Zee grinned and plopped down in one of the 'guest' chairs. "'m gonna surprise Charlie. Although I guess it's not a surprise if I left a message warning her that I was coming..." Yep. Charlotte's memory had been altered as well. Apparently the senior partner's had noticed how... alone she was. "Come on, Lindsey. When are you finally gonna succumb to your brutal attraction to me?" She giggled. "I'm whittling you down, admit it." She teased. If she really wanted him, she'd just take him, though. That was another thing about her personality that hadn't changed and likely never would.
Other than her history and making her human, they didn't change much, other than her general blood lust before. Lindsey himself didn't think that she'd last very long if they had left her with all of that. He had actually been the one to recommend putting her with Charlotte. He had noticed that, other than possibly him, she hadn't help much of a conversation with anyone here (at least not a good one). He figured she needed someone to connect with, even if much of the connection was created.
"I'll succumb when you admit to your love of all things pink, girly, and cute, Zee," he said to her with a smirk. Even though his memories of her hadn't been altered, he still found it easy to talk to her. Amazing. "I know you secretly were lace and frills when no one is around."
"Oh no, he's on to me!" Zee flailed and laughed, covering her hands over her face to hide her 'embarrassment'. "Alright, alright. So what's my favorite male lawyer been up to lately?"
That actually made him chuckle. "Not much, honestly," he admitted to her. "Mostly just work things. This place tends to keep all of us busy," he told her. Of course he couldn't say just *what* work stuff kept him busy, but there you go. "And I swear I'm not a workaholic."
"Or an Lilahaholic, or an Alcoholic..." She giggled. "Speaking of which!" She jumped up, quickly moving over to the liquor cabinet like he'd predicted. "You're totally having a drink with me before you go home. I have spoken."
Well, he knew that was going to happen. "Lilah's actually not speaking to me right now, so I can't be that," he pointed out. "I'm starting to wonder if I should just kill her so that she can quit messing with my head." Kind of frightening when you can't tell if he's joking about that, huh?
"I'm sure alllll the women in this building would love to hear that," Zee laughed. Clearly she wasn't the least bit disturbed by his sense of humor. She poured them each a Scotch and handed him his, before plopping down on his desk beside him.
He took a sip of the Scotch. "I still don't believe you in the idea that half the women here want me," he said. He knew that Zee wouldn't be disturbed by that. They had kept her personality mostly intact. "I work too much for them to truly be interested in me like that."
"Doesn't mean they don't NOTICE you, sweets! I hate to boost your ego, but you're a good looking son of a bitch." She 'sipped' her drink (which really, amounted to swallowing half of it in one gulp) and rolled her eyes at him. "You could have any woman based on your looks alone. Hell, so could I," she grinned.
He rolled his eyes. "Yeah well, maybe I'll take one of them out now," he muttered under his breath before taking another sip of his drink. So he was a little upset about Lilah. What of it? "Maybe you and I can take two women out here on a double date then."
"I think our idea of a 'date' differ VASTLY," Zee cackled. "Hell, I don't think I've ever been on an official date. I just take what I want. YOU could do well by my mentality."
He nodded. "Maybe I could," he admitted. He was certainly tired of walking on egg shells around Lilah, that was for sure. He gave Zee a smile. "I may do that tonight, actually."
"After a little liquid courage, of course," Zee grinned, downing the last of her drink and setting it on the table, before hopping up again. "Hate to drink all your Scotch and leave you... But I've got plans to corrupt my little sister yet. Unless you wanna come with us?" Gee, that was a dangerous idea.
He finished off his own glass in one gulp. "Actually, that's kind of tempting. Especially since seeing your sister loosen up a bit is always intriguing." If only because he wasn't sure it really happened.
"I've only managed to get her hammered once or twice, but she's a HELL of a lot more talkative when she's drunk. Not nearly as loud as me, though. I guess that gene skipped her or something."
"That actually sound hilarious," Lindsey admitted. He was pretty sure that he wanted to see this now. He wouldn't mind one wild night. Probably needed it, even.
"Brilliant!" She skipped back over to him and took his hand, showing a lot of strength for a woman with such a slight frame, and pulled him up. "I'm gonna make sure you forget your own name," she promised.
