TIME UPDATE

Day 74.

Weather: Continuing snow-flurries and freezing temperatures.

Events: Perhaps predictably after the last two days, occupants of the mansion may wonder if they're waking up in the midst of a Biblical plague. The mild irritation from the past few days has been amped up into full-on horror movie infestation.

Here's the deal. The previous night, everyone will have fallen asleep at some point, and stayed asleep until at least 8 AM. Upon waking up, there are so many discoveries to be found.

Insects, mice, rats, snakes, frogs... pests of all kind have infested the house. No one's going to be able to avoid encountering the creatures for more than an hour or two, let alone the entire day. At intervals, the creatures are coming in through the heating vents or the plumbing. Blocking these things off is simply not an option, however. Say you go into your bathroom, duct tape the vents closed, block all drains and yes, even the toilet. That just means they're going to get in through other rooms, and eventually, you'll leave that bathroom. Once you do, poof! All blockages are removed and the flow of passage is restored.

Some areas are seeing more specific infestations than the rest of the house. The kitchen particularly troubled by mice, roaches, and fruit flies. The basement has a higher concentration of snakes and spiders. But it's free reign everywhere else, and yes, creatures are still coming in through the mouth of the statue on the fourth floor. There's no pattern to it now, just a random stream.

There is a small speck of good news. Of the species that are being put into the house, while there are venomous creatures, there's nothing in the house at any time with enough venom/poison to kill a human being.

Oh. And the heat in every room is stuck at a toasty 78°F.

One final note: Experiment B's bat cave secret lair is 100% pest-free. Unless you count the actual members of Experiment B. So is the security level. Never let it be said that TPTB lack a sense of humor.
