They bring with them the finest of glassware, rare spices, liquors distilled from (mostly) cactus, gemstones, certain drugs, and stories from across the world. By tradition, even the worst of enemies greet each other politely while on the trading grounds, and foreigners are made welcome -- especially if they bring goods or stories to trade.*

[Familiar butterflies lead the way to the arena, which is coated with a fresh, lush layer of grass, as it tends to be when Beauty is in the house.

Before the throne are several small marble tables, meant to be used by sitting on the ground. There is one for each team, and on each table is a small stack of cards laid face down. For now, they are all blank.]

Good morning, everyone. Please take a seat, we will be playing a variation of one of Messenger's favorite games today. Talk among yourselves, and we will begin shortly.

[TODAY IN THE ARENA...it is filled with cardboard grass. And cardboard sheep. All lazily wobbling about as if the were actually grazing. As for the Judges throne. . .]

On the throne stood the dainty shepherd known as the Storyteller, dressed quite properly for her role for the upcoming game. She stood valiantly watching over he beloved flock, oh so worried about the nasty dogs that always picked on them. Surely the blanks would provide some stress relief and aid her! As they filed in she begin to quip:

"Baa baa dear blanks
Are you easily fooled?
How quickly, just how quickly
Can you find all the wolves?"

*those at the lakeside may notice that the surface of the lake abruptly ripples, as though disturbed by an invisible stone. A few seconds later, a Canis breaks the surface, coughing and wiping water from his face, and starts wading towards shore.*

We've got to get a bigger mirror somewhere if this keeps happening...

The Arena today is not as it usually is. The light coming down is only in patches, as if being shown through a decaying screen. Where the light touches, the ruined buildings stand exactly as they once must have: tall, proud and glistening. But there are patches of darkness as well, much darker simply than the absence of light. Where these touch the scenery, it becomes faded and translucent- like a tapestry partially unwoven.

It's hard to tell if the throne is empty or not. Looking straight on, there is no Judge to be seen, but maybe out of the corner of your eye, if you're not quite paying attention, there will be a woman with a scarf on her head and a loom sitting in her lap. Even unable to look her straight on, her face is beautiful, if wrinkled and she's smiling gently.

In front of her, there are twelve large looms, each strung up with the teams' respective colors.

[A set up you may be familiar with greets you at the arena. Lush grass radiating out in the area before the throne. There are also eight tables, each in the color of one of the eight teams summoned. On each table are six blank cards, and pens and pencils to write with.]

Gather as quickly as you can, you may find this game takes some time, and I would like not to waste it. Take your seats, and the rules will be following shortly.

I'm sure some of you remember a similar game in the past. And did I not, at that time, suggest that we may visit this game again? That time is now. I hope you all have learned more of your teammates than you had known before.
