Paradiso Comm

Paradiso is an oc-friendly, panfandom game set in the middle of a social experiment being conducted by the higher powers of the island in an attempt to re-establish civilization. Characters will awaken on the island and will have no initial access to a steady food supply, electricity, hot water, or any other creature comforts; they will need to build, maintain, and expand their own working society with the supplies they can find and the skills they possess. Over time, if the gods and goddesses favor their "volunteers," they may offer some creature comforts along the way with a little touch of magic.

It is a sex game that will have adult situations and occasional mod-prompted plots.

We have babies. Malia did great. I only passed out twice.

I couldn't get her to go with Luke and Leia for the names, so I proudly introduce Lucas Martin Stilinski and Cami Tate-Lahey.

Ruby went home. I told her I'd take care of the animals now. If anyone wants to learn more about them you can let me know. I hope I can do half as good a job as she did. I'm sad. I'll miss her as my friend

This place is...amazing. Almost too good to be true, but then again, paradise, duh, Jo.

I never thought about having kids really. Mostly because I didn't think I would live and I didn't. Yet, I know what this life does to kids. I was one. But this isn't a hunter's life anymore...

Right, so, good. Glad to see that everyone's having such a good time this week. Yay sex, amirite?

But I was kind of hoping also we could have a serious conversation as a community. Because we are a community, right? We're not just a bunch of people gathering here to go our own ways, we're in this together and we need to work together to get things done. At least, that was what I thought when I agreed to come here.

So. Ruby said something about it last week, and I'm going to bring it up again this week. We have several projects ongoing, right? What's left with the medical center? If I'm right we have our first babies arriving in about two weeks and we need to be ready for that.

Also, someone was working on a sewer system, right? Were they sent home? Not glamorous work but I'm definitely willing to help with that.

What else? What else do we need done? What do we need to make this island the kind of place we all want to live?

Normally I'd be doing a lot more questioning about why the local wildlife hasn't been drawn in by this stuff but this is the longest I've gone without chocolate since the War, so I don't know about anyone else but I'm at the point where I would gladly risk needing to fight a bear for a bearclaw. The fact that doesn't seem to be a concern is just a lovely bonus.

I am so grateful to the gods for this bounty. So many delicious foods. I'd forgotten what most of this stuff tasted like! Those little tarts with fruit on them? I'll take as many as nobody else wants... and more than that probably

If anyone has any extra crusts or ends that they don't plan on eating for the bread, we'll leave a bucket at the north side of the table to collect them to feed the animals with. We should make sure everyone is blessed with the bounty.

Steve:
Come get food now. Seriously, there are so many good things! It seems like the bugs aren't even bothering with them. Bring a couple baskets, there's enough for us to take some back to our shelter. I can't believe there are little tarts with FRUIT on them! I think there's banana bread with chocolate chips. I'll snag a loaf for you.

We've had so many people coming and going lately that I figured it might be a good idea to check in and talk about some of the bigger community projects that were in progress and figure out who's in charge and where they stand.

I know Sara's been mostly overseeing work on the Community Center. Who else is helping with that building effort and how far along are we? From what I understand, we intended it to be a communal area to store supplies, serve as a temporary shelter for new arrivals, and hopefully function as a kitchen for the group as a whole.

We also were working on digging and laying pipes for a sewage and plumbing system. Tony was spearheading those efforts, so we'll need someone else to take that project over now that he's gone.

The Medical Center is in pretty good shape, though it will need plumbing added when we have the sewage system done. And hopefully the gods will give us actual lights and things at some point since we have the electricity run in the building.

Is there anything else we should be thinking about as a group?

So as I've told some of you, I have the ability to teleport. And the past few days I've been using that ability to explore the island a little. I've found a lot of beautiful beaches, and more waterfalls, and coves that look good for fishing. I've also found some places that look good for settlements in the future, depending on how quickly our population grows.

My question is - do you think we should stay where we are, in the main campsite for now, and spread out only when we need to, or should we start another settlement? I'm not exactly sure how far it is because I didn't walk it, but from what I can tell about the shape and size of the island, it couldn't take more than an hour to walk it.

Right, so. Shelters.

I see that there are a lot of ones that look empty, but have stuff inside. Are those love shacks or something? I'm just trying to find a place to live and don't want to get in anyone's way. I can build my own if I need to, but if anyone can direct me to one that's already built, or anyone who wouldn't mind a roommate, I think there are better things I can do with my time.

It took a little longer than I wanted, but it's done. I made a bow and a decent amount of arrows.

Hunting might be first priority, I still want to offer anyone archery lessons that's interested. It's recurve, a little different than compound, but the basics are still the same.

I haven't been the most social since arriving, probably time to change that.

Okay, that's it. I'm giving up on clothes.

I can't find anything that fits comfortably, it's too hot, and it's too much of a bother to wash them out by hand every day. At least until the babies are born, I'm just going to be naked so if you don't like it, deal with it.

In terms of people with medical experience I'm aware of, besides myself of course.

Bruce Banner
Martha Jones
Phryne Fisher
Christine Chapel

What I'm curious is am I missing anyone? Given how unknown this place is, it is perhaps best to have a good idea of just who has even basic first aide training if a situation was to arise?

To Steve

See Stevie, even the gods could smell your manly stink. I guess the serum didn't exactly fix everything...

Also, I am very happy with my hairties. Maybe I can keep it out of my face while we're working!

So I guess I'm pregnant now? I don't know. I don't feel any different. A little tired maybe, but that's it so far.

Big thanks to everyone who has been working with Finnick on the house! I owe you guys, and no, Nick. We're not naming the kid after you so don't even start.

Why did you choose to bring me here?

[Open]

So, if anyone needs me, I'm really damned good at hard labor. And I like to keep busy. So just let me know if you need stuff carried, or anything like that. I want to help. And I'm not helping with the sex or repopulation thing at the moment soooo

What do you guys think is the most important thing about being here?

Is it the repopulation or the rebuilding? Because I'm totally okay with the rebuilding part...but the repopulating...well, I don't know if I'm ready to be a dad.
