ic comms community

Paradiso is an oc-friendly, panfandom game set in the middle of a social experiment being conducted by the higher powers of the island in an attempt to re-establish civilization. Characters will awaken on the island and will have no initial access to a steady food supply, electricity, hot water, or any other creature comforts; they will need to build, maintain, and expand their own working society with the supplies they can find and the skills they possess. Over time, if the gods and goddesses favor their "volunteers," they may offer some creature comforts along the way with a little touch of magic.

It is a sex game that will have adult situations and occasional mod-prompted plots.

I'm not quite sure what has happened to cause so many people to wish to leave our little piece of paradise, butbinthinknthat we should equally distribute the things they left behind. We need to act and live as a community now, especially as there are so very few of us left.

To anyone who knew him, Scott McCall has gone home.

He will be...very deeply missed.

I have been making blankets. I think even if it isn't cold here, they would help those who are not lucky enough to have a real bed to sleep on, and perhaps they could bring comfort to some. I am going to knit swaddling clothes for the babies as well, so that we may keep them warm and safe.

If anyone would like a blanket, please let me know?

Hey, guess who finally got a bed? This guy. So if anyone needs my old hammock, you're welcome to it.

I also got some real work boots, which is nice, because construction in sandals is asking for trouble. And some other protective gear, because obviously the gods agree that I'm too pretty to get hurt.

[Briseis]
If you've never seen a modern bed before, you really should come check it out. In fact, you should sleep on it tonight and I'll either take the hammock or go elsewhere.

Also, damn you for being right. :) I talked to Lydia like you said and it was fine.

That moment when the one who got away and shattered your heart shows up immediately offering services to the ladies.
I'm too fucking pregnant for this
I need to make friends who didn't grow up where I did. Like yesterday.

I started working on a side project a little while back and then I got sidetracked and kind of...stopped? I know it's not anything we need, but the meat is really gamey and I was taking salt water from the ocean and then evaporating the water to try to collect the salt for seasoning. Would anybody want to help me with that project? I feel like that's something I can do and not screw up but it'd go faster with more hands.

Or, to the contrary, is there anyone who thinks they've got a project I could be helpful with that would be higher up the chain of priorities? Because I'd be okay with that, too.

We got so excited about the building supplies and making plans for the medical center that we never talked about the fact that we also got a sewing machine, a ton of fabric, and a bunch of other sewing supplies. It's been more than a decade since I touched a sewing machine, but I'm pretty sure I can figure out how to make it work.

Who else has experience sewing - either with a machine or by hand? We should coordinate so we can start making clothes and blankets and whatever else we need as a camp.

Who would be interested in having another bonfire this Saturday, but with a twist this time? Ray suggested we have some sort of cultural exchange. The idea is that people would take turns performing or sharing something from their home. Sing a song, teach a dance step, tell a story, that sort of thing. Whatever you want to share with the group.

Of course no one would have to participate in that part if they didn't want to, so don't worry if you have stage fright. No one's going to push you up in front of everyone if you don't want to go!

We thought it would be both entertaining and informative since we're not all from the same time and place.

So are people up for that?

You are lovely.

[Everyone]

Does anyone need me to do any mending? I would be glad to. I would also be glad to teach anyone how to cook over a fire, if you like.

It's a bit shocking to me to read the network and see how openly people in this time discuss things.

Shocking, but I also think it's healthy. And so different from the world I come from. This place is so strange to me, but I very much want to stay. Women here...you are so lucky to get to make your own choices. It was not always so.

[Scott]

I would like to talk to you.

Hello. I have managed to make some needles from bone which means I am able to sew clothing and blankets and such. I would suggest keeping the skins of any animals hunted so that I can cure them? I am also glad to help with mending what clothing might have been brought with us.

Also, if anyone needs help with cooking, I have a good bit of experience cooking over an open fire.

Please, do not be afraid to let me know where I can be useful.

[Scott]

Last night was...lovely.

[Finnick]

Just checking in...are you okay?

[unfiltered, added]

I have had...terrible experiences with...with men in the past and yet I still very much want to contribute to this place. I don't think I have ever been as happy as I have been in the last week. Will the fear ever go away?

Hello...

I am not quite sure how to do a post like this, as I have never done one before, nor seen any magic such as this. But I suppose that we should not question the benevolence of the gods?

My name is Briseis. I was born in the Trojan city of Lyrnessus, but thanks to the Greek Armies, my home no longer exists.

I am happy to be here, and glad to do what I can to please the gods of this island.
