Happy Birthday, baby

[info]patmcconnell
[info]btvsal
Who: Pat, open to Patience and any of their friends
Where: Avarice
When: Backdated to Thursday

To Patrick McConnell, this was the kind of day that made him glad to be alive. It was Patience's first birthday since coming back from The Great Beyond, and he knew damn well he had to make it special. He called everyone that his wife called a friend, and informed them of this party. He had plenty of gifts onhand (as well as a few more surprise ones wrapped and waiting at home), a huge birthday cake waiting to be brought out, and other surprises.

He looked around Avarice, which mostly looked as it usually did... save for the sorner he'd had reserved for this party. THAT section had been decorated festively, with multi-colored balloons, 'Happy Birthday' streamers, pretty much everything Pat could think of.

Sitting at the huge table he'd had set aside for them, he wore a classy pinstriped suitcoat over a white dress shirt and black slacks with, cutely enough, a little party hat on as well.

Looking over at Patience, he grinned as he leaned over, placing a sweet kiss on her lips.

"Happy Birthday, sweetheart... I love you."

Who: Janie OT Anyone (multiple threads welcome)
Where: Chloe's Sugar Shack
When: Wednesday Night

For a moment, Janie was confused when she woke up. It was dark outside, and it had been dark when she fell asleep. After reading the note on her pillow she realized that it was the next day and forced herself to get out of bed.

Staying in the apartment would be safe, but she had to know if her friends were still okay. The first place that crossed Janie's mind was The Sugar Shack. She ignored the pain in her side before taking a long shower and dressing. Everything took longer, including the trip to the Sugar Shack.

After sitting at the first available booth, she looked for any friends.

Lexi was on her way into the face when she noticed the comics shop, again. She'd seen it, but hadn't been inside yet, and today, curiosity got the better of her.

She locked her car, snagged her black biker jacket off the passenger seat and headed into the store, getting a look around that the boxes of bagged-and-boarded comics and the shelfs overflowing with books and action figures and other fan-gear.

"Not bad," she said appreciatively, gravitating to a rack of rock-band memorabilia.

Xander was at the comics shop, pacing, waiting for Catherine. He had Janie's saltwater-ruined device in one hand, and was hoping that together, he and his friends could figure out how to fix it and how to return Janie to the present day.

"It's not going to do much good unless we can get her back here *with* it," he said, and bit his lip. "I mean, she could be running from mastadons or something, right now. Only ... not right now, so much as ... I don't think I have the right verbs for this."

Who: Patience and Pat OT Wedding Guests
Where: The Grove @ The Ephemeral Gardens
When: Saturday night, directly after the wedding (October 17)

Once the ceremony was over, Patience wanted to speed through signing the marriage license and taking a metric fuck-ton of pictures with the bridal party. Not that she didn't love everyone for being a part of this, but it was done. She was officially, legally, Mrs. Patrick McConnell. Nothing else mattered except kicking off her shoes and dancing the night away underneath the stars with her absolutely amazing husband.

All right. Maybe she'd have some food and do a few shots, too, but the bottom line was that she wanted to PARTY. It was amazing to her that nothing oh-my-god AWFUL had happened during the ceremony. It didn't feel completely real…until she looked down at the wedding ring on her hand and then it all hit her. So, yeah, she kept staring at it. That didn't make her a freak or anything.

She'd pulled Pat into another borderline inappropriate kiss once they'd joined the guests – not that anyone should have been a stranger to seeing them all over each other. Laughing and smiling – happier than she could ever remember being in her life – she'd taken his hand as they moved to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. Going with the Beatles theme, they'd agreed on Ozzy's cover of "In My Life" - and funny as it could have been, she simply thought it was utterly romantic.

The Back To School Dance

[info]turn_to_ash
[info]btvsal
Who: All Reagan High students and their dates
Where: Reagan High's Gymnasium
When: Backdated to Saturday night

Eve though he was technically only a few months older than some of the seniors, Ash still felt a little weird going back to his old school, even for a dance. Yet, he'd promised to bring Lucy to it, and just having her on his arm made him feel a lot better about it. He'd compromised a bit with her on his wardrobe, still wearing all black, but in the form of an immaculate Armani pinstriped suit and tie ensemble, that if not for his slightly shaggy hair would make him look almost like some sort of businessman.

He walked in with the petite blonde on his arm, leaning over to sweetly kiss her on the cheek.

"So... you said we're meeting some people here?"

Who: Dawn and OTA
Where: Hospital
When: Afternoon

Dawn hated the fact that she couldn't get much rest in the hospital. The nurses and doctors were constantly in and out of her room, checking her vitals, giving her meds and just generally annoying her.

She was also frustrated by the fact that there seemed to be some holes in her memory. It was troubling, to say the least.

[info]brainy_brat
[info]btvsal
Who: Cassie, open to Willow
Where: Shooting Star Comics
When: Thursday Evening

Finally, after all the choas of the last two weeks, Cassie felt like her life was calming back down, getting back to normal. Between meeting and befriending Tropical Storm Lucy (sister of Hurricane Chloe, natch),  getting asked out by the Holy Crap Hottest Boy At School, to punching out the biggest bitch in school, to being in a nearly fatal car accident... needless to say her life had been a whirlwind lately.

But! Now, she was back at work, in her store, and for once, all felt right and normal again. The tiny blonde sat behind the counter, looking through a few back issues of Punisher War Journal she'd special ordered for the store, not even really aware of how different she was starting to look. Lucy and Jason, together, yet separately, had given her the confidence to start wearing nicer clothes, makeup, all of it. She looked GIRLY now, and was looking damned good, to tell the truth.

WHO: Xander OT Cassie, Andrew or Any
WHEN: Sunday, Oct 04
WHERE: Shooting Star

Xander had an actual purpose this afternoon, aside from sorting through the inventory of Daredevil comics and returning them to the correct order. Janie needed something, and it was up to Xander to see if he could find it ...

Janie had a very complicated little electronic device that needed repairs. Xander wasn't sure if there was anyone he knew who could do anything about it, but if there was, he had a pretty good idea to look ... and that was right here.

So he got to work sorting the comics, keeping an eye out for his bosses and any customers, to start talking to people and finding the most likely electronics guru in the area.

Serious Business

[info]lucytherockstar
[info]btvsal
Who: Lucy OT Cassie, Janie
Where: The Beverly Center
When: Sunday afternoon (September 20)

Unfortunately, Lucy'd had to back out of shopping on Friday after school, but she'd rescheduled with Cassie and Janie for today and she'd been looking forward to it all weekend. There were only a few things Lucy loved more than shopping. Playing her guitar (and subsequently rocking out in front of a crowd), spending time with Ash, and…well, that might have been it. Now she was standing inside the holiest of holies, the eight-story monolithic tribute to American consumerism. And it was beautiful.

"Okay, where to first?" she asked. They were hanging near the escalators and elevators by the small food court on the first level. Lucy looked every bit the savvy chic mallrat in her short Armani Jeans skirt, blue-and-purple Marc Jacobs halter, and matching purple Valentino peep-toe platform slingbacks. Her long blonde hair hung free in loose, soft curls and she'd used her Prada sunglasses as a makeshift headband to hold the golden strands back from her face.

She didn't really wait for either girl to answer. "I was thinking we could start on the sixth floor. Hit bebe, Just Cavalli, Cache, Calvin Klein, Godiva, Kenneth Cole, D&G, and Aldo, then up to the seventh for Steve Madden, Coach, Armani Exchange, Victoria's Secret – 'cause, I mean, you have to have something nice to wear under your dress, right? – Dior, Gucci, Ferragamo, and Louis Vuitton. That should, most likely, take care of dresses, shoes, and accessories. And Sephora and M.A.C. for makeup. And we can look in Macy's and Bloomingdale's too. Just in case." There. As a game plan, that didn't sound so bad, right? Oh, yes. This was serious business.

Hanging out ... Down the street ...

[info]havingthefun

WHO: Xander OT all
WHEN: Saturday, September 19
WHERE: Avarice

Xander had been a little surprised by Janie asking him the other night if they were dating. After thinking about it for thirty seconds or so, though, he realized that he hadn't been sure, either. But they were officially dating now, and he was even taking her to a dance, the first Saturday in October.

He had asked her tonight if she wanted to go to Avarice, just to hand out and listen to music and maybe talk to people, and she had said yes. He was quickly running out of cash, but with any luck, that would turn around very soon.

He bought drinks and an order of cheese fries, and they settled at a table far enough away from the speakers that he didn't think his eardrums would bleed.

"This reminds me a little of a place back home," he said, and munched on a fry.

Shit? Meet fan.

[info]brainy_brat
[info]btvsal
Who: Cassie, open to Camille
Where: Reagan High
When: Friday morning

Cassie had been so mortified by Camille's actions yesterday that she didn't even stick around to think about it. What she'd done to Cassie's locker was bad enough. It was gross, disgusting, and almost made her toss her cookies. But what she did to Jason? Was uncalled for. Totally and completely.  And it not only insulted Jason, but it also insulted Cassie AND any sort of relationship she might be lucky enough for Jason to want.

So, enough of this. Cassie spent all night calming herself down, and then decided it was time to talk to Camille. She could do this. She was younger, but she was still a mature, responsible girl who could handle herself in times of conflict by using her most potent weapon: her brain.

She walked up to Camille's locker, and glared at her.

"Hey. We need to talk." and before Camille could walk away, or make some comment about not talking to dorks, she slammed the girl's locker and GLOWERED. "And I mean NOW."

Revenge Is Best Served Cold

[info]popularbitch
[info]btvsal
Who: Camille OT Jason, Kat, and Cassie
Where: Regan High School Hallway
When: Afternoon, b/w sixth and seventh period

One of Camille's friends had downloaded their locker combinations from the school's computer. Cassie, Kat, and Jason. While she had to know where Cassie and Kat's lockers were, Camille knew Jason's locker by heart. This wasn't a matter of the heart, though. This was something else.

For Kat, Camille had actually went a little easy. Well, easy in her mind, anyway. Camille had only covered her stuff in shaving cream and threw some streamers in there as well. A mess, but not quite as malicious as what she did to the other two lockers.

In Cassie's locker, she had left a half-dissected squid. She couldn't get a hold of a fish on such short notice, so she raided the biology lab instead. She also knew that squid smelled extra bad because combining the formaldehyde with the natural smell of a squid was known to stink up the hallway for a month after the dissection day. Everyone knew that.

Her nastiest wrath was saved for Jason. She had covered both the inside and the outside of his locker with pictures of little girls. Between the ages of five and ten. Just stuff that had been clipped from magazines. However, they were glued in, so they wouldn't come off easily. She had also painted on the outside of his locker, "This is what turns Jason on," just to make sure that the message had gotten across.

She then blew off the rest of school. Some of her cronies would tell her how they reacted. They would be waiting somewhere around all three of the lockers, after all. It wasn't that she didn't want to see their reaction: she just needed to get to her hair appointment before cheerleading practice. Roots didn't touch up themselves, after all.

Girl Talk

[info]lucytherockstar
[info]btvsal
Who: Lucy OT Cassie
Where: Shooting Star Comics
When: Saturday afternoon

After missing three consecutive days of school, Lucy was beginning to realize she felt seriously out of touch. She hadn't talked to Cassie since Thursday night when she'd called from the hospital just to let her know that Ash was back and that he was alive. She felt like a bad friend, getting caught up in just being with Ash now that they were TOGETHER again (wow, it felt so weird and awesome just to think it!), and not really checking on Cassie to see how she was doing with the whole Andrew and Ami thing, but that's why she was here now! She even came bearing cookies as a peace offering as she walked into the comic shop.

"Hey, Cassie? Are you here?" Lucy called out as she approached the front counter. She was looking much more like herself – had actually probably taken just a LITTLE more time than usual to make sure her hair and makeup were perfect and that she was channeling her inner Anna Kournikova in her short white tennis skirt and pink, white and gray Argyle sweater vest. (She'd conveniently forgotten to pair it up with a blouse beneath it.) She just wanted to look pretty for when she saw Ash later, but the most important part was that NOTHING seemed to be able to take the smile off of her face. She was on top of the world right now and completely excited and aside from Chloe, Cassie was the first person she wanted to talk to.

[info]flymonkeysfly
[info]btvsal
Who: Andrew OT Cassie
Where: Shooting Star Comics
When: Friday Afternoon

Andrew walked up to Shooting Star Comics and stared at it for a moment. A very large part of him just wanted to go back to his apartment and spend the rest of his life buried under the blankets in his bed. Of course, he knew that Ami would smack him if she ever got whiff of it in heaven, and he believed that she was in heaven and had not simply ceased to exist, and NO ONE could tell him differently.

No, he needed to try and make at least a few steps toward moving on with his life. No, he wasn't going inside to ask Cassie out on a date. It was way too soon to think about doing that, and he didn't know if she'd still even want anything to do with him, anyway. No, he was here to officially apply for that job that she mentioned. She had said that they needed a few more employees here, mainly so that her and her foster sister wouldn't have to be here everyday.

He figured that getting a job that made him go out would be a start to...something, he supposed.

He sighed and pushed open the door to the shop.
