My powers - a gift, now divided and passed among the masses like common trinkets for spoiled, snot-faced children.

I was once great, powerful and feared. You let me fade into nothing but a myth. weakened, forgotten - save for insignificant empty morals.

My power grows day by day and your days are numbered. It is time for my awakening.

Inheritors of this Earth, you overestimated your worth.

Squall stood, bottom lip that quivering. The dying sorceress crawled towards he and Matron, her powers searching a new host, a new vassal.

Edea stepped forward to take the powers, as she had repeatedly before. The SeeD, the commander, watched the events unfold yet again. He almost opened his mouth to speak when the younger him jumped in the way.

At once, magic ran through the small frame and gained a cry from Squall. Ultimecia screamed, enraged as she died. The commander doubled over in pain as his body and mind made way for the Sorceress's powers.
