Zell awoke to the feel of coolness against his cheek and the smell of gunpowder and oil. Blinking, he shifted under the covers and looked up.

“Why are you dressed, man?” he asked, eyes already closing again as he nuzzled against Squall’s gloved hand. “We ain’t got a mission or being attacked or anything. Get undress and back in bed.”

Squall smiled, a faint, imperceptible curve of his lips. “I’m getting breakfast.”

Zell’s stomach rumbled. “…okay,” he said, looking up at Squall. “Food, and then get undressed and back in bed.” He grinned. “You can keep the gloves on, though.”

The past week showed that Balamb Garden has no problems slipping on gloves and doing the work. Galbadia and Trabia are missing their gloves sadly.

“Shut up!” Zell yelled at Irvine, who was laughing uproariously. “It’s not funny!”

Quistis smiled. “You want to tell Squall that he poisoned you and you expect him to think that’s…a good thing?” she said, one eyebrow raising.

“Well…yeah,” Zell said, fidgeting. “Romantic. I can’t stop thinking about him, it’s like he poisoned my min-”

“Stop,” Irvine said, shaking his head. “That’s terrible. You clearly need help in the romance department and I’m just the guy to help you out.”

Quistis listened to the lines Irvine fed Zell, before snorting and shaking her head. This can’t possibly end well.
