Rowan had gone home for a bit. Seen Micki's daughter, seen his mum, done some work. Slept in his own bed. It was strange how used to that he'd gotten.

And then right back here, not a month later, wandering from his bathroom to get something out of his pocket in his room while in the middle of brushing his teeth.

He showed up in the lobby of the hotel in boxers, a toothbrush hanging out of his mouth. "Bugger."

There really weren't enough sophisticated places here, Lucy thought, ordering her second glass of champagne at the classiest bar she'd managed to find. She wasn't usually one to drink alone, but her husband wasn't here and she didn't have anyone else to ask to come with her.

She glanced around to see if anyone interesting had arrived to talk to.

Open (Lis' Ten) - finished

Lucy walked out of the most upmarket clothes store she'd been able to find with several bags of new clothes in each hand. They weren't exactly the designer clothes she was used to, but a girl had to wear something and these at least weren't too disgraceful.

She stepped out of the shop and into the street, heading for the hotel to drop her new outfits off before going to find some lunch.

Ianto chewed his left thumbnail nervously, absently. He was reading in the library, on a couch, chin balanced on his knee and the arm not holding the book wrapped around his leg.

She scanned through a few more shelves randomly, waiting for something to catch her eye, when she discovered a fairly recent translation of The Illiad and, recognising it, began to giggle. Then she was struck by the thought that she'd look very odd if anyone saw her randomly giggling at a book not renowned for its humour, and quickly glanced around to see if anyone had seen her. She wasn't in luck.

Lucy had found a nice little tea shop that was a little less seedy than some of the other places she'd seen, and was sitting at a table in the corner eating her lunch - a fairly decent salad and a glass of white wine.

When the bell over the door tinkled, she glanced up towards the newcomer with a pleasant smile.

Anna's Lucy

The Professor was sitting in the lobby of the hotel with a book and a cup of tea. He was reading Shakespeare, since Estelle had told him she'd met the man himself, and he'd decided he should read something a little closer to the source than the version that had been through a hundred trillion years of translations.

He reached over for his tea and saw a woman enter the hotel, looking around as if she'd lost something.

"Are you looking for someone?" he asked, kindly.

Lis - Master

Lucy wandered about the town for a few hours, mostly ignoring people because she didn't know them. There'd be plenty of time to talk to strangers, if what Captain Harkness had said was true, and in the meantime she really wanted to find Harry and make sure he was all right.

At last, just when she was starting to wonder if the Captain had been wrong about her husband being here, she spied him lazing on a bench in the park.

She walked over quickly, smiling with relief. "There you are, darling!" she said, shifting his legs off the bench so she could sit down beside him. "I was starting to think you weren't here at all. Do try to look more like a potential Prime Minister when you're in public, won't you? There might be people here who would vote for you."

Jack was in the dining room, pouring himself a cup of coffee. When someone else came over he moved so they could reach the mugs. "Fancy running into you here," he said, conversationally. Who it was, and if he'd ever spoken to them before or not, didn't make one bit of difference. When you were in the drain trap of time and universes, it never hurt to be friendly - or careful.
