John

He got River settled safely in the hotel, then went back out.

He stood for a moment on the street, completely composed. The next second he snarled, whirled around and slammed his fist into the building, hard. Hard enough to break bone. "What the fuck is up with this place?"

ANGER only barely began to describe his emotional state at that moment.

River

Fox went stock still when he stumbled into the Nexus. He made sure River was there, checked her 'psychic pulse' as it were, as he'd gotten way too used to doing, and turned to look at her. Reassured at least that she was there, he closed his eyes, took a deep breath and suppressed his emotional reaction to being back here and the memories that came with it.

Jean-Claude

When Asher finally sent him on his way, Jason headed for the old town but took a round about way heading home. Not that Asher probably couldn't have found the house if he wanted to--old town wasn't that small. But he didn't want to lead him directly there. Plus it gave him a moment to figure out what the hell he was going to tell Jean-Claude, because this was going to be difficult.

Finally, though, he reached the house and slipped inside, smelling the ink on his back and almost wishing he could go and get a bath now before Jean-Claude saw it. It wasn't like he couldn't tell the vampire what it said, pretty much. Even if he couldn't see the words (and likely couldn't have translated them even if he could).

"Jean-Claude?" he called, heading for the stairs. Maybe he was out. That'd make this a little easier.

Asher

It was a full moon. Or as close as New New York ever got. Jason sat in the city park, legs stretched out as he looked up at the sky and hummed. An unfamiliar scent that felt like it SHOULD be familiar caught his attention, enough to make him raise his head and look around. Then sit up further because he knew that hair.

"Huh," he said after a moment, then raised an eyebrow. "Should I ask how long you've been watching me?"

Jean-Claude

Jason honestly hadn't slept at Jean-Claude's side all day. He had gotten up for a while to do stuff that needed to be done. Like eat, mainly. And pick up laundry. And check in on some people. And go for a run, sans fur.

By the time he came back from the run and grabbed a shower, it was close enough to the end of the day that he went straight downstairs. Which was how he ended up dozing on the free side of the bed, hair still damp and smelling faintly of soap.

Eric

Therem had slept and eaten and slept some more. He's also found some bright, light weight clothing that breathed and suited him much better than the t-shirt and jeans Brant had given him him.

He went walking in the streets, trying to get a feel the place and it's customs, now that he was more alert. The lack of currency bothered him - theft was a terrible crime on Gethen, so he'd asked every time before he'd taken something.

He walked into one place - he'd thought it was a restaurant, but once he went in, there was dancing and not just dancing for the joy of it - Was this a kemmer house? The feeling of sex definitely in the air. He started to back out, not uncomfortable at the sex, exactly. But he was in somer, not even radiating sexual pheromones. This was not a place for him, right now. Surely it would be confusing for the people who had come to have a good time.

Donna

After a very good sleep, Jack disentangled himself from Koschei, and padded through to the TARDIS's kitchen in search of more food. At the sight of a human woman already in there, he paused, posed, and grinned. "Any chance you might be Donna?"

A figure wrapped in a fur lined coat was huddled up on a street corner, a dark thin face staring out from under the hood. It didn't take a doctor to realize, even wrapped up, that he'd lost a lot of weight recently.

Therem was unsure what to do. This was very, very clearly, not his world. These people - they made him think of the photographs Genly had shown him. Also, it was far too warm for Kerm land in the middle of winter. Where was Genly? He'd been right there.

First things first, he took off his heavy gloves and shed the coat. There was still multiple layers to protect from the cold.

Julianna

Asher was slightly irritated, slightly bored, and more than slightly perplexed about the nature of this place. The night would come to an end all too soon. Though he was still curious, he recognized the necessity of a secure place to spend the coming day.

He found a staircase that led downward and followed it, thinking that he really most find a food source before he was reduced to feeding on vermin -- or Eric's leftovers. Neither one was particularly appetizing.

Asher

Eric pulled back, mouth bloody, and smiled at his food. His tiny blonde food, and oh so willing. "Thank you, Charlotte. That'll be all for today."

He did not know what universe she was from, only that her blood tasted delightfully exotic and that she got off on pain. She pouted, but knew better than to protest, a hand to her neck. She moved to the bar, where the perfect bartender of the day had already prepared a little pick-me-up for her.

Eric leaned back in the booth at the end of the bar, savoring the moment, until he suddenly became aware that Asher had entered the bar, and he peeked out of the booth to catch sight of the younger vampire.

Becky's Mulder

River walked up to Fox with tub of ice cream, two bowls and two spoons in her arms. "Boys are weird," she announced. "Come eat ice cream and watch something with me? But not something with predominately sexually explicit content, please, because that would just be confusing at this juncture. Please?" she repeated.

The Doctor had been to many, many places. He'd go so far as to say no one in the universe was as widely travelled as he was, would stake the contents of his pockets on it (and the contents of a Time Lord's pockets can be a very, very interesting thing) if it came to it. He'd travelled high and low, far and wide, had been to worlds that would simply blow the minds of most and places that were the very height of dull. What he hadn't ever been was stuck. At least, never for this long. His brilliant mind working ten to the dozen had saved him from many scrapes in his time, but even he couldn't think, force or charm his way out of this place.

Regardless, he wasn't about to admit defeat. Nor would he ever say he was trapped here, oh no. There was obviously a reason for his being here; something that only he could do to fix it, to put things right. Something that he could only manage with the realisation of his true power. Yes, there was an explanation for everything. Because this place needed fixing, this place was fundamentally broken - any world where the Master could run free, as he'd seen with his own two eyes, was damaged in an exceptional way.

He'd stayed in his TARDIS, mostly; running tests, seeking answers, lashing out at her on occasions and dashing from room to room on others, as if inspiration always lay just behind another door. God knows he could spent an eternity running her corridors, but he did so with the determination of a man who knew he could do anything and that the answer was very definitely his to find.

It was late when he finally chose to emerge from the police box, could've known the time to the millisecond if he'd been focusing, but his mind was still very much elsewhere. He needed air, that was it. Just a little air to cool the whirring machine of his brain and then he'd find the answer.

Ushas was peering at a pot of begonias, in the hotel lobby. Definitely not Gallifreyian in orgin. She turned to the first person she saw said, "Do you know what species of plant that is?" Pause. "And the name of this building, if it has one?"

She, of course, had no idea where she was. She had been gathering plant specimens, having snuck out in the evening with her friends, turned to call out to Theta, and...She wasn't about to let on she was alone, lost, and vulnerable. Not yet.

Romana looked fairly chipper. Almost glowy, actually. It was a quite a turn, and seemed sudden to her too, but she'd slept a lot and decided not to question her good mood. She said brightly to the next person she saw, "Would you care for company with a meal?"

She might was well enjoy being fit to be around people.

The Doctor was at a flat out run, barreling around a corner, and ran *right* into some one. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Did you see a woman coming this way? Blonde hair, blue eyes? Where did she go?" he asked, looking around wildly, before he met the eyes of the person he'd smacked into.

Jean-Claude.

Bella did not understand.

She'd woken up in a strange hotel room from one of her usual nightmares (they were usual, by now), and nobody would give her any answers. Not even the cat people, who made her think she was still dreaming. A very vivid dream, an odd one without Edward. She walked through the strange streets, feeling panic swell up in her chest as she could not fight the conviction that this was much worse than a dream. Much more real.

Oh, if only Edward were here, but he'd left. He'd left her.

She stopped dead in her tracks when she spotted the vampire. Unmistakable, with his marble skin and perfect features, the grace of his movements. She wanted to rush to him, yet something held her back. Not all vampires were like her Edward.

Lis.

Brant was, not to put too fine a point on it, bored. He was also in an atypically crabby mood. He wasn't lashing out or angry, but he wasn't feeling particularly sunny, either.

He stumbled out of the hotel with a cup of coffee, flopped on a bench and generally looking both very sleepy and very cranky.

Also, very young.

"Hey," he said, immediately upon sending one of the two time lords he knew best.

River peered up and held out a Bible.

"How does one quantify the immortal soul?"

The question had been bothering her.
