This was a really exciting week, as the walls went up and it really started to look like a cabin. The walls are done, the loft and roof supports are in place, and next week the roof goes on. Thanks so much to Nick for all your help, especially with the really heavy, high stuff like the upper parts of the walls and the ridge pole and beam. Thanks for Bucky and Steve for taking a little time out from your awesome chicken coop to help, and of course thanks to my main man in all of this, Scott.

I feel like I oughta miss the hum of Serenity's engine a little more than I do, but it's so shiny here and it's nice knownin' the law ain't at our backs. Never seen so much white sand, or water so blue before, it's right outta a picture in one of them old books and all, like no place I've ever been.

Seems this is the best way to get a proper ni hao out to folk around here, I'm Kaylee. While this place far as the beach goes don't seem exactly lousy with any kinda space transport, guess I'm fair handy when it comes to anything got mechanical workings so, that's some way I'll be lookin' to be useful here. Oh, once fixed it so there was runnin' water in a whorehouse too, so y'know, just ask, I'll give it my best.

I'll say too, these comm bracelets are some kinda nifty tech, I wonder if they'd give me a spare to take a proper look at.

OOC- Hey y'all, we going to try something a little different for this, hopefully it will be a low-pressure and fun way of handling the game. This will be an IC/OOC thread with optional action tags. If you post regular comm style it will count for 100 points like a regular comm. If you use action tags in brackets it will count for 200 points. For more discussion about how this works go to the OCC thread here.

To clarify the rules, if you are tagged by an enemy while you are in enemy territory you are "out" and are frozen in place until someone from your own team tags you back in, at which point you must return to your own territory before joining play again. You can only be tagged out while in enemy territory so "defenders" in their own territory cannot be frozen.

Oh, and all this is back-dated to Sunday because I didn't have my act together enough yesterday to do it. :P

Hey, everybody, I was wondering if anyone else was interested in playing Capture the Flag this Sunday? I tried to organize a game for Tuesday but I didn't have much luck, maybe because it was a weekday and short notice. So I'm trying again for this Sunday.

So far we have me, Chloe, Sara, Barry, Bucky, and Steve (I think? Bucky kind of volunteered you, Steve).

Oh, and if you're super strong or fast or whatever and you think you shouldn't play because you're worried about cheating? Don't be. EVERYONE of all abilities is invited, and we'll just try to divide up the teams so they're even and we don't get all the super powers on one side. OK?

I just realized that all the people I hooked up with so far decided to leave... I hope that doesn't say anything about me.

Anyway, if anyone's looking for some casual fun, let me know. I'm into girls and guys.

Sounds like a few other people are planning on getting knocked up so we should put our plans on hold for now.

But if you wanna practice...

I'm not sure what I expected, but a full blown beach and a tropical atmosphere wasn't exactly it. But, well, here it is. A bit like a vacation. Not that I've ever been on a real vacation.

I'm afraid I won't be able to settle without a proper understanding of the layout of this place. And, of course, I'd like to meet everyone. From what I understand, this community isn't particularly large as of yet, so that shouldn't be too difficult, I think.

With so many people deciding to leave, I've been working on taking stock of the supplies we have available and have a list of shelters with beds that are available.

Here's what I've found so far:

7 walkie talkies
7 maglite flashlight
7 flints
7 hatchets
7 canteens - though I know that these have been communally used at the construction site
shampoo & conditioner
razors
towels
ponytail holders
tampons
shaving gel
sunscreen
lotion

We also have 8 shelters available with beds - 7 of them are full size and 1 is queen size.

Can everyone who is still here check in? And let me know if you've got a stable shelter and/or a bed so we can try to allocate our resources as fairly as possible.

With so many people deciding to go home, I feel like I should step up and do my part by carrying a baby for Arva.

I would want to give the child to her to raise since I'm not ready for that. Anyone interested?

Is it me or does this place seem creepy quiet since the mass exodus? It's Saturday, people. Let's make some noise! Someone round up that short blonde chick with the laptop and amp up the speaker to 11.

I'm not quite sure what has happened to cause so many people to wish to leave our little piece of paradise, butbinthinknthat we should equally distribute the things they left behind. We need to act and live as a community now, especially as there are so very few of us left.
