I am definitely confused about what's going on around here right now.

I mean, not that this doesn't occur on a semi-regular basis anyway, but...

I can't remember the last time a Quidditch match happened quite like that one. Talk about one for frustration!

I'm definitely going along to the mask making event, but mostly because I'm hoping for inspiration for my total ensemble, not just my mask. It'll be a really fun night, I think!

Well, I really enjoyed watching the talent show! It was great to have a different kind of evening thing to do. There sure is a wide ranging bunch of talents in this place...

Well, I WAS going to write about the PTCs, but now we're stuck up here and people are seeing crazy stuff, it hardly seems like the most important thing.

I hope us Ribbonfins aren't going to get too used to sleeping in the lodge...

Tomorrow, I'm going into NYC for my audition, and then whatever happens, I can throw myself back into the rest of the school year without that hanging over me, whatever happens afterwards.

It actually feels kind of liberating.

Drama Club

Turns out, they're also scouting for applicants for a wizarding drama major. Do I go for it? What can I even read?! Apparently most of it is to be prepared with a partner on the day, so they're giving people time to decide. But still.

Your cousin wrote to me and explained the ceremony. It sounds beautiful, but I have grave concerns about it being too intense to be something I am ready for, and also stuffing up something that appears to have great cultural significance I also want something that puts us on a much more equal footing.

Instead, I suggest we just talk. Just you and me, somewhere with no-one else around. But you have to promise that this stays between us, because I don't want half of Ribbonfin asking us about things that are incredibly personal.

Wow, definitely a busy few days! The play is going to be an absolute BLAST. I'm really looking forward to it.

Hey guys! Operation 'Turn Tabitha's house into a party zone between Christmas and New Year' is going ahead full steam. Dad's leaving champagne too, actually. Mom would probably murder him if she knew that, but hey, good for him.

Okay. Apart from, like, one book left on the psychology of magic, I think I've pretty much completed the pre-prep for the project proper. At least that's one achievement.

I mean, this is all between practising and writing an audition piece, so.

So, I had to ask Merrill something yesterday about my essay, so along I go to his classroom. Before I even have the chance to ask, he challenged me to a game of DARTS, of all things, and because I won he gave me extra credit on my paper! How nuts is that?

He did, of course, also give me actual help. Should probably make that pretty clear.

I don't take Potions, but I was passing by on my way from History and heard some kids talking about the Amortentia thing. Elmasry seemed to be letting anyone with the manners to ask really nicely go in and smell it, but he was definitely watching it carefully, which was reassuring.

My dad just owled me about Christmas and is stressing about it being late. Ladies and gentlemen, the senior MACUSA representative for the great state of Pennsylvania. Two months in advance is not good enough for him.

What he said was that he and Mom are out of the house between Christmas and New Year's, because they're going to my grandma's in Wisconsin. I believe his exact words were "you're smart enough to not let things get too out of hand, or at least, to be able to hide it from your mother".

Yep, folks, time to plan a mid-holiday break party! I'm just listing you guys in the ward now but we can add people for sure.

Oh, and those of you who don't celebrate or who aren't with family this year are totally welcome to come for Christmas too. Or New Year's, whatever you want. We've got the room!
