I got [...] considerably more flowers than I was expecting. I'm not sure I've gotten thirty flowers in my entire life before today, let alone all at once.

I did some emergency work in the library, and I found a charm I can use to contain the allergens so that Trixie doesn't die. It's the same spell we use to seal and preserve her fruit so it should also keep them from wilting. If anyone needs to know, I'll hook you up.

I realize some of the flowers sent today were pranks like mine right?, but at least this prank funneled funds into what is going to be a hella rad masquerade.

I'm really glad that our families got to visit. It's an extra big deal for us Nobles, getting to show all this off to our muggle family. As fun as it sometimes is to be away from parental supervision, I was pretty sad to see them go.

Doc examined this journal like I might have smuggled a bomb in inside it. They have cases and cases of powdered eggs and powdered milk, and something called canned bread, in case of snow. It's only been a couple of days (I think? I've lost sense of time out here), but I've been taught what knapping is and how to do it. Someone called Uncle grandfather or something spent twenty minutes explaining to me the wonders that moonshine will do for your scalp and the luster of your hair. Trixie has a little cabin shack that I think she built with nothing but a machete.

I haven't intentionally broken anyone's nose since the summer after freshman year (soph year during quid doesn't count, it wasn't on purpose), but if I ever run into those freshmen, I'd be hard pressed not to.

But, I've had enough of fighting, so INSTEAD I am putting that energy into something productive. I'm writing a letter to my home representative about amortentia, suggesting it be regulated if not outright illegal. I'll also be making floo calls about it. If you'd like to join me, I'd be happy to help you draft your letters (or just copy mine, this isn't homework after all) and find out where to send them.

The following letter arrives for Theresa this morning, delivered by a barn owl that would best be described as unsettling. Mr. Elmasry is there when it comes in, and mentions that he and Martin were briefly in school together, but he never knew him well. Martin was an Ebonhide, and... a muggleborn, he thinks? Being a wizard always seemed hard on him. He spent a lot of time alone.

"They say he lives with a vampire now," Mr. Elmasry adds helpfully as he gives the staring owl some water before it leaves. The letter has a wax seal, imprinted with a tiny cross.

Everyone, it's past curfew, so please stay in your cabins. Your own cabins where your personal bed is. If you're already somewhere else, please let your house prefects know where you are. Basically, everyone should be in a cabin. Stay put. This will make it easier for prefects to do head counts and make sure everyone is safe and accounted for.

There is no vengeful ghost, there is no Killer of Gooseberry Lake. What there is is some asshole jerk who thinks this is all hilarious. Still, we don't need rogue bands of Killer hunters and lone investigators sneaking out of their dorms and hexing the crap out of each other thinking they've got the culprit. Even if you were to catch the "killer" we don't need you doing serious harm to a person who is in all likelihood one of our students.

Stay in your dorms with your dorm mates. Safety in numbers. Horror movies prove it.
