Given what has been happening in this school this year, V-Day was not as bad as it could have been, no? I swear there were even fewer tears than last year. Even got myself some flowers, so that makes it all a win-win in my book. Homework's all done and everything, so I'm in an awesome mood right about now.

So, I'm doing some wider reading right now, and it's about three wizarding leaders in Europe in the 1300s who were all named Pedro, and all named Pedro the Cruel in various forms. Just to add to the confusion, one was also nicknamed Pedro the Great. In an extra twist of cruelty, the writer of the article hasn't given any assistance whatsoever in keeping track of them all so I'm sitting here drawing a diagram to make sense of something that may yet only be mildly helpful in my essay.

Pros to having a sibling at Gooseberry - half the time for parental interrogation. So I'm feeling pretty good about this thing. We'll consider it a mini invasion.

Someone gave my sister a jumper in Ebonhide colours with a bear on the front as a gift and now she won't stop wearing it. I'm guessing it was someone from school because it wasn't one of us, so thanks for making Marie-Anne a bit more relaxed, for a change. She's looking awfully pleased with myself while my mother is the one sorting out the food and I went out with dad this morning for firewood. Pretty sure I got all the exercise I need for the rest of the month doing that alone.

It's official. Gooseberry is definitely keeping us on our toes before we all leave for winter break.

That walk down to the Quidditch Pitch from Azurcrest would be a pain in the ass to do without magic in this weather. Thank god for anti-slipping spells.

Warded to Coppertale Prefects

Vector just put ALL of the junior prefects on probation because of fucking Sy starting his fucking mud fight while the Seniors were all gone. Including me, and I wasn't even THERE, because apparently she doesn't care about figuring out who was actually responsible.

So yeah, remind me again how the fuck I am supposed to do anything about Sy when he clearly has a self destruct button?

My grandmother just sent me pictures of home, talking about how cold I'd find it if I wasn't in Utah. Looks like maybe a half inch of snow dusted everywhere... Anyone would think she hadn't been living in Quebec her whole life!

Not risking offending her though. She does send great snacks for Thanksgiving... Makes a nice stash before the other holidays.

A lot of birthdays close together in September. At least that's one reason to not let life get you down when you're back to school and you're getting used to it.

Quidditch and Cheer tryouts were fun to watch, and hey, anyone Trix's height who can try carrying me out of the stadium deserves a spot on the team for having the sheer damn guts to do it. Fair play to you, Trix.

Go to get Pepper-up, get glared at by Healer, get rid of the last of my voice pointing out that I am, surprisingly, genuine in having been ill. Ah, the joys of Gooseberry...

11am, my latest start. I could get used to that.

Took a long route back to the cabins today. Jay, Rattlesnake, Gila Monster, looped around the Oak, Bear, Bear Cub, Moose, Coyote. Most convoluted route I've done in a while, I reckon.
