Draco spoke to Rodolphus a few times since the man arrived in the village, but the boy wasn't stupid. He wasn't going to test fate. Keeping a respectful distance seemed the best way to keep himself out of trouble with this particular uncle. As it was, Draco hated that his mother had so many problems with the man. He just wanted to be free of the reminders of the past. However, Draco was only a baby in the man's time. He didn't know how much Rodolphus knew about the future, but he
did know his uncle was far from unintelligent. Draco had a hunch he knew the Malfoys weren't exactly running with Voldemort anymore. He just hoped Rodolphus remembering him as a child might give him some leeway. He could hope, right?
He was worried he was going to be late getting to the castle, but a quick look at his journal confirmed he wasn't the only one stuck somewhere. Damn it to hell. No spell worked. None. What good was their magic if it kept not working when the village went crazy? "Bloody hell," he said to no one in particular as he stuck his wand back in his pocket.
