WHO: Lisa Turpin & Rodolphus Lestrange WHAT: Trying out her wand WHERE: On the dock WHEN: Monday afternoon RATING: PG
Lisa had been here two weeks and was slowly settling in. With Disney World being in the village, Lisa could easily pretend to be happy about being here, pretend to enjoy herself. In reality, she did enjoy some of it this past week. But she was still scared and nervous to be here. She wasn't meant to be here or so she thought.
That afternoon she went to the docks, hoping to avoid people for a change. Lisa brought her wand with her, as Draco Malfoy had suggested that she do in this time-warped village. Professor Lupin had asked if it was working for her. Lisa had lied saying it was fine, when in reality she had not tried it out. It looked like her wand, felt like her wand, and was even made of the same parts as her wand, but she wasn't so sure that it was her wand. "Do you even work?" Lisa asked it. Lisa tried to remember the last time she had used it. It'd been a couple of months, the last time she'd visited Diagon Alley.
Blue sparks emitted from the tip of the wand instead of turning a rock into a flower as she had intended. Was it the wand or her? She set it down beside her and leaned back. Lisa wasn't sure what to do about it. After a few minutes, Lisa picked up her wand again and pointed it across the water, this time red sparks coming out the end. At least it worked this time. Lisa then pointed it at the rock again and a flower appeared in its place. It was probably her then.
Lisa was about to try casting another spell when she heard footsteps, startling her and causing her wand to drop onto the dock.
