Who: Peter & Rodolphus Where: Goods'n'Stuff When: Saturday night COMPLETE
Peter was tired. Exhuasted, really. As if he didn't have enough to deal with, with getting used to having one hand and magic that did him about as much use as a chocolate kettle, now he was running the grocery store that fed the entire village, with only a couple others to help him. He was working long shifts every day. Even though the shop didn't open until midday, he had to be there earlier to sort out the stock, get everything ready, and open the doors. It wouldn't be fair to leave Theo or Merope - especially Merope - alone in the store, so he stayed, letting them man the tills while he rushed from one end to the other keeping up the stock levels and helping customers. Those who would speak to him, anyway. He was almost used to the ones that wouldn't.
Then he would close the store, adding up the tills, checking everything was safe for the night and locking up. At which point he would go home, fall into bed, and not even eat anything until a late breakfast the next day, and then it was time to do the whole thing all over again. It was taking it out of him, but in a way he didn't mind. He liked having lots to do. It made it easier not to worry about things like his failing magic, his confused feelings over his self-appointed tutor, and now the mystery of the man on the bluff.
There were hardly any customers about on Saturday evening anyway. Better things to do, he thought wryly, as he gave the others the night off and sat behind the till himself. He pulled out a book and sat back for a rare rest. The book was about how unexpected physical changes could affect a wizard's magic. Unfortunately it didn't seem to offer any solutions.
