Who: Regulus Black & Rodolphus
Where: Waterfront, just a little southwest of the village
When: Early morning
What: Regulus arrives. Sopping wet.
Regulus awoke with a shuddering gasp. He was cold and wet and why in seven hells was half his body submerged in the LAKE? After a small amount of flailing, he stood up, too infuriated to care that he was in a shallow part of the lake. The fact that he was in the lake at all overrode any sense of relief. His pajamas were sopping wet and clinging to his body heavily.
"I-I'm go-going to kill t-t-them," he muttered, unable to keep his teeth from chattering. Who they were was obvious, wasn't it? Sirius and his idiot friends. They were the only people cruel enough to do this to him. The fact that no one was laughing yet meant that they were probably waiting to see the look on his face. Maybe they had a camera ready too. There was barely enough of the dawn's light for a photo. Shivering despite himself, he turned around, expecting to see them.
His brow furrowed when he saw that no one was there. He waited, expecting someone to pop out. After several seconds passed, he started wading out of the water. If no one was there (unlikely), waiting to pounce on him with a camera (likely), he hoped against all hope that he could make it back to the castle without anyone noticing him (highly unlikely). It would be beyond humiliating if anyone found him in this state. He couldn't afford the attention. His plan- he couldn't set it back any further. It had to happen soon before he lost all nerve.
His arrival on dry land was anything but graceful. He promptly tripped over something and cried out when he was jabbed by something else. "Bl-bloody hell," he moaned, pushing himself up. It was a quick succession of anger, confusion, and finally relief when he saw that the first something was a book, and the second was his wand.
Did I hex myself into this mess? The thought occurred to him just before he heard the rustle of grass that was unmistakably footsteps.
