This holiday break has been terribly trecherous. I pray for all the families that were affected by the attack and I assure my father will do all that he can to help seek justice for them. The status of our world just seems so on the edge. It should make every one of us rethink our lives and the choices we're making.

Well my rumour continued to be about sex or boys or both. I'm not at all surprised. They need to come up with something original. I'm more concerned about the hurtful rumours that others seemed to get. Unless stated otherwise please don't believe anything that is in the Scribbler. It is full of hate and they are just looking for attention or to cause drama or something.

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Any interesting stories? Is the train ride still as long and boring as it always is as everyone returning home would be on it right now.

I am for one grateful that the magic is back and I realize how much I am looking forward to never being without it again. Christmas can not come soon enough. Apollo and Artemis are back in the castle and doing much better. Calcifer of course noticed nothing different. Silly cat.

I'm not even making sense of the nightmares this week. The full moon tomorrow and Halloween - Day of the Dead - this weekend must be distracting Death.

It was skeletons last night, dancing before the nearly full moon. There was a flock of crows in the trees watching. And then the crows joined in and put out the fire, and pecked the moon to pieces.

All Hallows' Eve. A holiday celebrating Witches and Wizards here in America, but it is the Day of the Dead to other cultures. Totally my holiday, clearly. Is it inappropriate to dress up like the guy on the beer bottles? Sam Adams?

It is the privilege of men to be wanted and prized for what they can do, create, achieve. Women, through time, are prized for being pretty, petite, pliable, and submissive. We are recognized not for who we are, how smart we are, how powerful we are, but for what designers we wear and who we have married. It is enough to make me wonder sometimes how I, and those around me, will fit in the world where intelligent and capable women are so often put down, negated, spoken over and ignored. The top of the chain is white, male, heterosexual and cisgender. Where is the place for the rest of us, and when will intelligence be enough?

In the same vein, when will it be okay for males to be weak? Why can they not show real emotion without being labeled and ignored? Why can we just not all find an accord?


Sexy Halloween costumes just continue this oppression - seeking attention for our bodies and not our minds. I hope some outside of me will seek out more unique and interesting themes than sexy animals and such. We are so much more.

School seems to be moving faster than normal, or maybe it's just been because I've been trying to keep busy but I cant believe it's almost Halloween already! Meet what is now known as a Fire Lizard. They are only five of them known to be alive in the world and all five of them are located at Hogwarts. They are a brand new species that as of today is classified as an Endangered XX (Harmless / may be domesticated). I have two of these little guys and Professor Hale has three.

They don't breath fire and they are not poisonous. They are reaching two months in age and haven't started to fly yet but they are testing their wings. We don't know how large they are going to get but when they hatched they fit comfortably in the palm of my hand.

I have been studying them since they were born and I will continue to study them, sending the Headmaster and the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures updates on what I find.

I've had to hide them away in my dorm for the last month and a half but now I don't. They will be coming to class to me (unless all the students cause them to much excitement then they will stay in my dorm). To my dorm mates Apollo and Artemis are very well behaved and shouldn't be a problem. If they are I will find a solution.

I keep seeing mentions of costumes for Halloween. Does someone know something that I don't? Is the Halloween feist costume enforced this year? Because if it is I'm okay with that. This means I need a costume.

I've been so busy that I can't believe it's already October. That and this journal tried to bite Calcifer. My journal now has scratch marks on it and I think it might be afraid of my cat. Has anyone figured out how to stop it from biting other than to write in it?

I know it is so very cliche but I love this time of year. The leaves are changing. The skeleton war is going on. It's the perfect temperature for sweaters. I'm not a fan of the pumpkin spice though. Does that mean I get my white girl card revoked?

Students, given what has occurred, our classes will be moved indoors and rather than hands-on experience with the creatures I will be lecturing. While this is not ideal, your safety is important. This also means that we will not have any meetings of the CoMC club as I do not want any of you on the grounds for an extended period if you don't have to be. I will bring some of the less dangerous calmer animals into the castle if there is enough demand.

Having early morning detention three days in a row is freaking evil. EVIL. God I'm so exhausted and ready for the weekend to happen. I'm doing nothing this weekend. Absolutely nothing. If you want me I'll be in my bed.



Batman on the other hand is loving the grounds and growing like a weed. It's really scary how much he has grown with all the exercise and fresh air. The elves love him. I don't know why because he is slowly becoming bigger than they are.

Peppermint and Gizmo decided tat it was time do to a little posing again. They're such good friends,  it's adorable. Though I dread when Giz finally grows into a full size. Hopefully she wont want to rough play with her feathered friend.

School seems to be going by both too fast and too slow. I cant believe that it's already going to be the first Hogsmede weekend this Saturday At the same time, it's just taking too long to get there. I cant wait to go and spend some time with friends and looking around the shops again. Anyone makes plans for then yet?

Gotta say that I'm glad I didn't get into bed until late. I missed the mass of feathers exploding around. Gotta say it's pretty funny when I'm not one of the feathered masses.

But on the plus side, I thought I'd share with you what kept me out a little later than normal. Going back down to the hippogriff pens is always a favorite of mine. So, I suppose enough folks have laid eyes on me by now that it's time to cough up some answers.

Yes, I am much bigger than I used to be. No, I don't get sick or hurt the way I used to. Also no, I didn't do this to myself on purpose. As some of you may know I was held by some bad people last year, and some of the things they did to me led to these changes. I am glad I'm not as much of a burden as I used to be, but I also lost my best friend to those people. I would trade it all just to get him back.

I'm not really a fan of talking about it all, and I do have panic attacks from time to time. My therapy dog, Vincent, will be with me during classes and although I don't mind if people pet him, please don't pick him up or take him anywhere. He's technically supposed to be working, and I had to get special permission from the Headmaster to have him with me.
