Ok people, good Christmas. Could it have gone better? Probably. But it certainly could've been worse. I'd like to thank all my friends who sent gifts - and yes, the thank you notes are on their way (if you haven't gotten it already) for helping to make this possible even though I'm kinda hard to Christmas shop for (Christmas isn't really something my family's really done). Speaking of presents, I hope I did good with the things I've sent.

Main goal for next Christmas? More parties - or if not that, more of a festive celebratory dinner thing on the 24th. The same old same old type dinner just isn't cutting it. Now I'm not saying that we have to do the whole in Christian Christmas Experience (tm), but something special that isn't like every other dinner home would be a big improvement. Ideas on how to achieve this would be gratefully apreciated.

While I really like the apps Professor Stark's been adding to everyone (or at least everyone who wanted it, which it seems is everyone but one sheltered little firstie in Gryffindor)'s journal things, I do wish he managed to find a way to stick headphone jacks (or the magical equivalent of headphones) onto the things. It's really hard to listen to one's arithmancy textbook while a bunch of lower years are each listening to different songs in different genres (I swear that this includes what sounds like death metal and Scottish bagpipes among other things). On a side note, I've really got to upload my muggle music next time I get a chance (once I figure out how to anyway).

I broke my hand on a stupid Death Eater's stupid face and I can't do anything with it. I never realized how clumsy my left hand is until now. It feels like I'm trying to do everything backwards. How do people do this all the time. Does it just feel normal for them? This is dumb.

At least I don't have to stay with my mother My daddy hasn't let me out of the house since he heard about what happened in the newspaper. I think he's mad because I just told him that I got into a fight and not about the whole Death Eater attack thing. It wasn't entirely wrong and I didn't want him to worry, but now he is anyway. If they're going to find me in Reliance then they deserve to find me, honestly. I can barely find me here.

We didn't go to the game since my parents aren't quidditch fans and they never really saw the point of my attending sports games since I can't see the action anyway. But I know that some of you worry, so I just thought that I'd let you all know.

I've never stayed in Marble City by myself before. My friend, the one I usually stay with, went back home yesterday and I don't really know what to do with myself now that most of the shops are closed. I've already spent a few hours trying to get through some of the books I bought for school, but they're all hard for me to understand and I want a break.

I've been trying to use this thing, too. Get used to it and fill the time looking through it. But I'm not really used to writing down things to talk to anyone. I was told when I got it, that it was like 'passing notes in class', but I never did that.

Can anyone even understand what I'm writing here?

i THINK THAT i'M IN SOME REAL TROUBLE HERE GUYS.

sO, i WAS HANGING OUT IN THE LIVING ROOM KINDA FLIPPING THROUGH CHANNELS LOOKING FOR ANYTHING THAT SOUNDED INTERESTING WHILE STILL PULLING OFF THE GOOD GIRL ACT (EVEN IF i WAS KINDA HANGING HALF OFF THE COUCH UPSIDE DOWN), WHEN i HEAR THIS MOST GOD AWFUL SCREAM OF PAIN COMING FROM MY ROOM - WHERE MY JOURNAL WAS HANGING OUT IN ITS USUAL DESK DRAWER. TURNS OUT THAT MY VERY MUGGLE NANNY/BABYSITTER/PERSON IN CHARGE OF KEEPING AN EYE OUT FOR ME WHILE MY DADS AT WORK AND MY MOMS OFF DOING WHATEVER IT IS SHE DOES WITH HER TIME FOUND THE JOURNAL WHILE GOING THROUGH MY THINGS AND IT DECIDED TO MAUL HER.

So I'm curious... Curious by nature, which is why I was likely sorted Ravenclaw. I like to learn and gather information.

Scientists and doctors say that people who have lost one of their senses, have heightened senses of the remaining ones. I would assume that the same goes for people born without one of their senses. How does one judge that? Obviously through experimentation and analysis, which is a given, but how does the test subject know that things are heightened? Maybe their mind is just making them think it is, so would that be considered a true testament?

I wonder... does it apply to all aspects of life? Do clothes suddenly feel better? Do perfumes suddenly smell better or more fragrant? Or is it a slow process? Does it need to be taught to someone without one of their senses. Does it make things of the physical nature better too? Like kissing and sex, not that I know about either of those one way or another, nor do am I in a rush to. I just wonder... if it affects hearing and smells and tastes, does it really affect touch?

With every passing day of summer, we draw closer to another school year. I feel that it's important then to embrace the warm weather and freedom that we have for now by celebrating. So after gathering my father's acceptance, I have decided to have a pool party next weekend.

As if my parent's strictness wasn't enough, New York seems to be going through a freaking heatwave. It's too hot and muggy to go out and do anything fun, and there really isn't anything to do inside beyond sit around in the AC. There's nothing to read, nothing on tv, and I finished my summer homework ages ago. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I can't wait till school starts up again. At least then I'll be able to do stuff.

On the plus side, my parents haven't started talking up suitable suitors for me like I feared they would since I'm starting to get 'that age'. Then again, to get married off the other people kinda have to know that I exist.

So the summer is getting closer and closer to ending, and that means a brand new school year and a brand new quidditch season. So Gryffindors, I would like to talk to you all about joining the quidditch team. We're on a mission to keep the winning streak going into this year.

As team captain, I think it's important that we get things going. So I'm going to be holding a couple open workshops in the coming weeks. So anyone interested in playing, or any previous members interested in helping me out, hit me up!

Am I the only one that hates summer vacation? I mean I love seeing my family and getting to do stuff with them, but I can't do magic. I am so use to it over the school year and now I am excepted to turn it off like a switch. I nearly started a fire last year because I was twirling my wand so mom took it and put it away. I hate being a kid.
