With the business of the holidays and travel I had completely forgotten that I had brought this home with me. At least until it bit me as I opened my bag that is.

I hope every one enjoyed their Christmas and are having a wonderful New Year. I've been in Cardiff, spending time with my grandparents. I also participated in a showcase here. It was so much fun and everyone was absolutely amazing.

To the stranger who sent me an owl. The bag is gorgeous. Thank you for such a thoughtful gift.

Ravenclaws we will do better next time. We aren't out of the running just yet. We can still kick but and beat Gryffindor and Slytherin. Good game Hufflepuff but the Cup will be ours.

Only five more days of classes left, a Hogsmeade trip, and then its the holidays and my birthday. I can't wait for a little break from NEWTs preparation and more time with my brother. We've decided that we are going to be staying at the school instead of going home this year. Who else is going to be staying? Who is all going home? What are some of your traditions that you are looking forward to?

As the head of the dance club, I would like to remind everyone that auditions for the holiday recital. We are eager for some new dancers and especially some gentlemen. I'm actually kind of glad that I missed the weekend activities. Seemed like things got a little too interesting for my tastes.

I decided to spent my weekend in the room the Dance Club uses to practice with one of the other students. We made this and I have to say I'm kind of proud of it!

Students,

Someone left a copy of Witch Weekly in one of the greenhouses today. I flipped through it, and I don't blame you if you don't come by to pick it up. Two pages on hair spells, three on beauty products, and it doesn't even list contraception spells. I find it interesting they well help a girl get the boy she is after, but is not much help, well after the getting.

Also, please be aware Athena has begun hiding dead--or mostly dead--mice in some of the plants. If she does this to you do not shriek as I detest shrieking. Think of it as her trying to feed you, or threaten you. Either way, just don't shriek. Let me know if she leaves you some that are still kicking, as I have some carnivorous plants.

As for recent events I will only say this; he is not the first nor will he be the last. Don't let it crush your spirit, and don't let it turn you against your peers. That is all.

My name is James. I'm being forced to explain that apparently I'm not dead and that I used to be a student here. Then I wasn't. Now I am again. The rest doesn't concern you. If you used to know me, that's too bad, I don't remember you.

Before too many idiots try to ask me about the obvious- yes, I'm missing my goddamn arm. I only need the one to break your nose if you ask about it or offer to carry my books.

Alright Hogwarts, Michael Meru here. I figured that as Head boy, I should probably say hi and remind everyone that the new semester is a chance to be who you really want to be and succeed. It's a new year after all and a new start! The regular school rules apply as always. Curfew will be enforced by prefects and teachers. The forbidden forest is always forbidden. (Especially to all the magical creatures fans.) And if you see smoke coming from the eastern corridor on the third floor, please just ignore it. It will go away quickly.

Now for Ravenclaws! Quidditch tryouts are this Friday. Remember, we're going to win this season and best of all, we're going to beat Gryffindor. So let's get some fresh blood out there and eager to play, right?

Also, I just want to remind people that should they wish to find me for my birthday tomorrow. I will not be in the lab. I know how much that pissed everyone off last year.

It feels good to be back at school. It probably sounds a bit nerdy but I actually missed this place. Phobos and Deimos are glad to be back as well. They definitely prefer flying out and about out here in the open air rather than through the city. Plus they were starting to drive poor dad crazy.
