This holiday break has been terribly trecherous. I pray for all the families that were affected by the attack and I assure my father will do all that he can to help seek justice for them. The status of our world just seems so on the edge. It should make every one of us rethink our lives and the choices we're making.

It is the privilege of men to be wanted and prized for what they can do, create, achieve. Women, through time, are prized for being pretty, petite, pliable, and submissive. We are recognized not for who we are, how smart we are, how powerful we are, but for what designers we wear and who we have married. It is enough to make me wonder sometimes how I, and those around me, will fit in the world where intelligent and capable women are so often put down, negated, spoken over and ignored. The top of the chain is white, male, heterosexual and cisgender. Where is the place for the rest of us, and when will intelligence be enough?

In the same vein, when will it be okay for males to be weak? Why can they not show real emotion without being labeled and ignored? Why can we just not all find an accord?


Sexy Halloween costumes just continue this oppression - seeking attention for our bodies and not our minds. I hope some outside of me will seek out more unique and interesting themes than sexy animals and such. We are so much more.

School seems to be moving faster than normal, or maybe it's just been because I've been trying to keep busy but I cant believe it's almost Halloween already! Gotta say that I'm glad I didn't get into bed until late. I missed the mass of feathers exploding around. Gotta say it's pretty funny when I'm not one of the feathered masses.

But on the plus side, I thought I'd share with you what kept me out a little later than normal. Going back down to the hippogriff pens is always a favorite of mine. With everything that has been going on I've completely forgotten to get my school supplies until now which is a first because I love getting them. Getting new quills, new books, picking out parchment. There is just something that I love about it and with school starting less than a week away I need to do it. So that is my mission today.

So summer was eventful. Paris, Milan, Hawaii, and then we finished off in Indonesia. Returned home to an amazing party (excellent, as always, Sera) and now the world cup this weekend to finish off an amazing summer. Pity that the summer is coming to an end though.

So the family vacation is over and I'm a bit disappointed to go home already. Though I will have some awesome memories of the trip... as well as some ink. I think Da's going a bit overboard on the trying to make things up, or he figured that I'd eventually try to go do it on my own without him and decided that it was better to go together. Gotta admit that I'm proud for surviving it. It hurt like hell.

Beyond that, Gizmo came home and peppermint was waiting for her. The two are are loving each other. I even managed to grab an adorable pic of them both.

With every passing day of summer, we draw closer to another school year. I feel that it's important then to embrace the warm weather and freedom that we have for now by celebrating. So after gathering my father's acceptance, I have decided to have a pool party next weekend.

Mostly because I think I'd rather not deal with this stupid thing trying to rip up my clothes or bite me or whatever it decides to do, I've picked it up. This journal is moronic, by the by. Who gives the slightest fuck, in all honesty, what I am thinking or feeling? I guess our opinions on it don't matter much though. At least there's alcohol here, and a lot of it. Means that I can drink and fuck around with this thing for a while and keep it from annoying me for a few days.
