It seems like I'm in the minority when I say that I'm not looking forward to going back to school tomorrow. I really enjoyed my break. I like having the internet and a computer and learning how to drive Roscoe. We had friends staying with us and it was fun having a full house. I don't think dad wants us to go either.

It's going to suck going back even if it means I get my magic back. Muggle technology > Magic. I'll fight you on this.

But I did get a keepsake when Isaac came for Christmas and Professor Hale tagged along.

Four more days, not including today because classes are OVER, until holidays! I can't wait. I'm heading home to spend the holiday with my dad. I think we are going to try and cook a turkey this year which might lead to a fire but we will see. We might end up ordering Chinese like we have in the past which I'm also okay with.

I'm thinking of getting another animal so Batman can have a playmate and an annoying younger sibling. Thoughts?

Happy Holidays to my fellow staff members and the students of Hogwarts. It is December 1st and I've come bearing good news.

Since we haven't had an incident and everything has been running like clockwork I've decided that the new restrictions and rules will be dropped as of today. Students are able to go outside when they want, there will be a Hogsmeade trip this month before many of the students leave to celebrate the holidays with their families, and the curfew has been lifted.

But just because the restrictions have been lifted doesn't mean we shouldn't be on guard. If you see or hear anything strange please tell a teacher.

Magic is back! Wonderful beautiful magic! I didn't break the magic for forever. There is a god. It came back in time for Dad's owl to arrive telling me he has to work Thanksgiving so I'm on the fence on whether I will go home or not as it is just me and him.

Not that I'm a fan of being without magic, but this has been a relaxing few days. I've been at peace with my abilities as a Seer for a long time, but having this break has been like a little vacation. I even managed to finish that book I bought two months ago.

Students, as you can imagine, a magical creatures class that is taught both inside and in a non-magic environment is a less than exciting class. However, it's what we have to work with. We will not be able to have a live model in the classroom so in an attempt to keep you all awake, we're going to be studying more dangerous creatures.

Thank you to students who have expressed their concerns for the various creatures. They have been moved to locations outside of the non-magic zone, which means that students will definitely and 10000% not be permitted to visit. The fire lizards, for those who are asking, are fine.

A bit delayed I know, but I just had to comment on the quidditch game this past weekend. Hogwarts takes its quidditch seeeeeriously! I mean, how many people got hurt in just that one game?! I went to an all boys school before, but the boys at Merlins are fucking pussies next to you guys.

I would actually consider going out for the team, but I like a different kind of broomstick between my legs, if you get me.

So I snuck out today because I needed to get outside and brought my sketchbook out to the edge of the forest and saw a mother and colt grazing together. I thought it was absolutely perfect. I do not dislike this holiday, but the necessity to prepare a costume has taken time away from my research, as has trying to puzzle out the intention in some instances of poorly worded homeworks.

My snake has been sticking closer to me as well, he does not trust this holiday and the tricking. Ironic for a symbol of trickery, but he is more prone to pithy comments than he is other 'snake-tongued' words. Still, it is good that he is appropriate as a part of my costume this weekend, even if he is not poisonous, as I doubt he will let me go without him. If I did, I would hear nothing but complaints from him for some days, and I would get even less research done.

He was amused though last night to have startled the young first year in the Great Hall at dinner. I was speaking to a student beside her, and she had had not at first noticed him... but she let out a shriek when he moved to encircle my neck and sit on my shoulder. Clearly a muggleborn, or one not otherwise used to snakes as Familiars. Perhaps I should not have been so amused, but he was chortling at the incident, which made it funnier since of course no one else could understand his laughter.

Hey everyone, I have a small announcement. It seems one of my experiments might have gone missing. The cage wasn't fully closed and I'm a bit worried that it decided to go exploring a bit. If anyone happens to see it, don't be afraid and just contact me. I'll come and capture it.

Meet what is now known as a Fire Lizard. They are only five of them known to be alive in the world and all five of them are located at Hogwarts. They are a brand new species that as of today is classified as an Endangered XX (Harmless / may be domesticated). I have two of these little guys and Professor Hale has three.

They don't breath fire and they are not poisonous. They are reaching two months in age and haven't started to fly yet but they are testing their wings. We don't know how large they are going to get but when they hatched they fit comfortably in the palm of my hand.

I have been studying them since they were born and I will continue to study them, sending the Headmaster and the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures updates on what I find.

I've had to hide them away in my dorm for the last month and a half but now I don't. They will be coming to class to me (unless all the students cause them to much excitement then they will stay in my dorm). To my dorm mates Apollo and Artemis are very well behaved and shouldn't be a problem. If they are I will find a solution.

I've made an appointment to see the Headmaster this weekend. I've done all I can do research wise and I'm ready to bring all this information on the newly named Fire Lizards to his attention. I'm hopeful that he will see that they aren't dangerous nor actual dragons after I'm done my presentation.

If you want you can be there but you can also stay out of it if you're worried about your job. Apollo and Artemis should be enough for the live examples.

Greetings Hogwarts,

My name is Dr. Raava Balan, I was brought on by the Headmaster after recent events. I apologize it has taken longer than expected for me to arrive, I was held up by unforeseeable events. Starting today, I am here full time.

What you need to know about me.

- I was educated in both London and India
- I have attended both Muggle medical universities and Wizarding medical schools as well.
- I have never attended Hogwarts, I have no bias towards any of the houses.
- I am here to assist with grief counseling, conflicts between you and your peers or your professors.
- I am also available for career counseling, and overall future planning.
- I can assist with helping students who come from predominantly muggle households adjust to living in the wizarding world, and help discuss difficult topics with your families.
- I am also available if the staff need to talk as well.

It will take me a bit to get my office organized, but even with boxes everywhere I have an open door policy, and many teas for anyone who comes by. After I get settled in I plan on visiting the common rooms, all of them, I've read they are quite cozy.



So who wants to give me a tour? Studying a map is very different than the real thing! I am very excited to be here. My office is down the hall from the infirmary.
