Getting The Lay of The Land

Who: Rachelle, open to anyone
Where: Avarice
When: Saturday night

Well DAMN. Chloe hadn't been kidding when she said what a madhouse Avarice turned into on a Saturday night. It was packed like sardines, and with the dancing, the music, and the lights... Rachelle felt more like she was at a concert than in a club. But it was pretty awesome, really.

As the new bass player of Suicide Messiah, the tomboyish redhead felt a wee bit awkward right now, knowing that the rest of her own BAND hardly knew her, that she was mostly here because they lost another bass player, and they needed someone consistant, and Chloe more or less said 'fine, let me call someone'.

Still, things were looking up. She knew she'd gel well with her new band, plus? Kevin and Lucy were here now too. Perhaps a Van Warren reunion was in the cards as well? If she could help it... you bet your ASS it was. That band was like her pride and joy.

She was even trying to work on her image a little, for the sake of her new band. While she felt a little ill at ease wearing a clingy black skirt, fishnets, and kneehigh stiletto boots... Chloe had told her numerous times that she likely wouldn't fit in at Avarice plodding in dressed in baggy jeans, a baseball cap, and a football jersey. Thank the Lord she'd listened to the blonde.

For now, she stood by herself, silent, slightly swaying back and forth to the music blaring forth.

An Unexpected Return

Who: Bronte and Ben
Where: Avarice
When: Afternoon(Friday - October 2nd)

Normally, an afternoon at Avarice was busy for Ben. Since he spent most nights living it up at the club, he normally spent the afternoons doing his work before the club itself opened. During this early part of the day, all that was open was the bar, which got the occasional straggler but not much else.

But considering Ben had spent all the previous night talking to Skylar, the girl he'd held feelings for for close to two years, needless to say it was going to be more a day of deep thought than of work.

Sitting at the bar, a beer in hand, Ben honestly was paying no attention to anything around him at the moment.

No place like home )

Gloomy Sunday

Who: Janie, Open
Where: Ted's Diner
When: Sunday Afternoon

For the entire week following her mysterious trip to the beach, Janie had been quiet and withdrawn, spending most of her time in her bedroom or cleaning.  She did anything to keep from explaining what happened, or what could happen in the future.  There were just things she didn't talk about and that shouldn't have come up in this new life she had for herself.

Janie knew that her machine wasn't fully under control, but now, it didn't work at all.  The saltwater ruined some of the internal components, making it into a useless paperweight.  The travel had not stopped, however.  She found herself disappearing, and going back to the place where she never wanted to return.  Escaping seemed harder and harder each time, and she was gone more frequently, and for what seemed to be increasing amounts of time.

Today, she sat in a diner, just waiting for something else to happen that would take her away from this place that she loved.  She had friends, a boyfriend, a life, and it was getting harder and harder to hide what was happening from them and to pretend to be happy.  Janie stared out of the window, and picked at her fries.
