Who: Dakota, OT Anyone
Where: Avarice
When: Wednesday evening

Since her chance reunion with Jack the previous morning, Dakota had been practically drowning in her thoughts... all of her old dreams, the years she'd spent trying to make it, it all kept coming back to her, along with how lax she'd been in the last year or so, as if she'd started to submit to the thought of never getting anywhere in the music industry.

Then she looked in the newspaper she'd bought two days ago but never read. And once again, as when she'd met up with Jack, she felt that for the first time in a long time, the stars were aligning to send her some kind of sign. There it was, a huge ad in the entertainment section, that on Wednesday night, at Avarice, there was going to be a huge, open jam session for all local musicians, with mention of some nameless scout from Vertigo records in attendance.

She raised a thin eyebrow, as she realized that was the label that Jack's band was on... so they were clearly not adverse to signing and taking a chance on local acts. The tall, lanky redhead let the paper fall to the table, looking across the room at where her blood-red bass and her microphone stand leaned against the wall. It was time for action.

--------------------

She'd never been to Avarice before: honestly, it seemed too new and trendy for her, even if it did cater to the metal crowd. She preferred the old haunts on the Strip usually. But she still felt almost overwhelmed as she walked in: there was a stage setup that would make a concert promoter envious. A multi-layer dancefloor. One of the biggest bars she'd ever seen. And at least 30 or so people looking to be getting ready for the jam session. After asking, she got the information about when she could get onstage, and what she needed to do: since she wasn't there with anyone in particular, she could just announce a song she was going to play, and either play alone or see if anyone else wanted to join in with her.

When her name was announced, she slowly made her way onto the stage, bass in hand, and adjusted the height of the mic-stand.  Brushing some red curls from her eyes, she cleared her throat and spoke.

"My name is Dakota Ford... and I'm here to take my destiny, grab it by the throat, and never let go. I'd like to get a drummer and a guitarist up here who think they can keep up with me."
