Paradiso

Everything here is different to where I'm from (and when I'm from). I'm from Los Angeles California in 1974, where things are groovy and neat-o and far out. But I'd like to hear about people from other times and other places. Feeling kind of homesick and I'd like to hear about other people's homes.

So where I'm from, I'm pretty okay with the ladies. Here... not so much.

Can anyone help me out? Give me some advice from... wherever and whenever we're from? Wherever and whenever you all are from? I think I really like this girl.

So here's what I've learned so far, in my time on the island (and in the future, if what I've been told is true).

People are... kind of mean.

I mean, you're a real swell guy, and I like you a lot. But it seems like most people just make fun of me and the way I dress and the way I talk. I'm pretty tired of it, if you want the truth.

What say you and me go out and throw the football around sometime soon? I could use the guy time.

I feel like I oughta miss the hum of Serenity's engine a little more than I do, but it's so shiny here and it's nice knownin' the law ain't at our backs. Never seen so much white sand, or water so blue before, it's right outta a picture in one of them old books and all, like no place I've ever been.

Seems this is the best way to get a proper ni hao out to folk around here, I'm Kaylee. While this place far as the beach goes don't seem exactly lousy with any kinda space transport, guess I'm fair handy when it comes to anything got mechanical workings so, that's some way I'll be lookin' to be useful here. Oh, once fixed it so there was runnin' water in a whorehouse too, so y'know, just ask, I'll give it my best.

I'll say too, these comm bracelets are some kinda nifty tech, I wonder if they'd give me a spare to take a proper look at.

Today, I saw an angel.

I think I'm in love.

Dad told me it would be a good idea to do some volunteering before I went off to college, you know, to give back to the less fortunate. We Bradys are lucky in so many ways, it's just the right thing to do. Well, I signed up for this thinking it would be like building houses or something, which would have been neato. I did working with my hands just as much as the next guy. No one told me the place would be this outta sight, though! It's even prettier than the time we went to Hawaii, but I haven't seen as many groovy chicks in bikinis sitting out on the beach as I did in Hawaii. And dig this kooky typewriter thing! Took me a while to figure out how it works. I thought the bracelet thing was like a Hawaiian lei, so I just put it on and it suddenly started doing things! Outta sight!

So what happens now? I've never been anywhere by myself, without the rest of my family. My Dad usually organizes our trips so I'm not hip to the organizing accommodation groove. Do we just bunk on the beach? Because I gotta tell you that wouldn't be the worst place I've ever slept. And do I need to talk to anyone about getting started on the building? Come to think of it, the place where I signed up was pretty vague on the details, so if anyone can tell me anything, that would be far out.

Well, I... say, I spoke too soon about the groovy chicks. I think I just spotted one!
