After hours of literally just sitting there in his home, contemplating whether or not he had the heart to take his own life.... Ash finally fell asleep. Slumped over in his recliner, the knife had fallen from his hand, clunking to the floor. As he felt his head hit the back of the chair, he finally allowed himself to surrender to the haunting embrace of his dreams.

At one time? Ash's dreamworld was a thing of beauty. A place he escaped to from the horrors of the real world. A place of light, where all he could see was a future with the girl he loved. The average person would have laughed at the corniness of it: the big house, the kids, the hyperactive puppy... it seemed like a normal, civilian life.

But now... it was as if his dreamworld was a fruit that had gone bad. Everything was black. Decayed. Rotten. And as Ash stood there, looking at what used to be he and Lucy's dream house... now it was a black, dilapidated shack, burning with a never-ending fire, one that seemed to permanently destroy anything it touched.
