[ click! a young woman, seventeen or eighteen at the oldest, is peering expectantly into the video feed. after a moment or two of fiddling with the communicator, she starts talking - to herself. ]

A network-interface device of some sort, huh...? Might be worth looking into, assuming I can put it back together.

[ she grins at that, cracking her knuckles like she's accepting some sort of challenge in the process. ]

Anyway, looks like it's on, so- [ she clears her throat. ] Greetings, fellow inmates! My name's Lucca, and I... [ she pauses for a few moments, awkwardly adjusting her glasses before continuing. ] To be honest, I'm not really sure how to introduce myself here. It's a prison, right...? On second thought, maybe that's all that needs said right now.

[ she flushes a teeny bit, barging on nonetheless. ] Anyway - I understand the need to remove all weaponry upon arrival. It's a sensible approach, really! But just in case our robotic captor is listening... I don't suppose I'd be able to bargain for the return of my Wondershot? Even if it's converted to a non-operational state - an easy fix! - I'd still kind of like it. The thing's got sentimental value, you know!

[ there's a bit of a pause after all that. and then- ]

...Robo, Ayla- Crono- heck, anyone, just let me know if you see this. Until then, guess I'm getting used to this place.

[ and with that, she shuts off the feed. ]
[video/action] Beach Party!
23 May 2012 at 06:39 pm
[Michiru has been busy today. She had woken up with sudden urge to throw a party so she had spent most of the morning setting up her idea and finally she is ready to let people know about it.

As the video feed turns on, people will notice that a portion of the beach has been set up for a beach party including drinks, snacks, and appropriate beach games. And of course the teal-haired Senshi throwing the party]

Good afternoon, Marina. It seemed like today is as good a day as any to have a beach party. I have everything that I thought of for games and snacks, but if you can think of, feel free to bring it as well.

[And now for the fun part...]

And just to make it a little more fun, let's make it a clothing optional beach party. But please wait until you get to the beach for those who do not wish to join us.

See you here soon.

[And video feed out]

[ooc: Why yes, she did say clothing optional. Michiru's all set up at the beach and will stay for as long as there are people there or until the gas wears off which ever comes first. Create threads and tag amongst yourselves and above all, have fun!

If you want to respond to Michiru's video post or interact with her, there is a thread here. Otherwise, notifs are off]
[AAAAAND...MINGLE!]

[The warnings have already been given, but it's a little too late. The gas was invisible, untraceable to the normal senses. But someone might feel it. The changes in them if they had been close enough, breathed in too much. Too bad they probably wouldn't care after that either.

It's not such a big deal now, is it? Neither is holding back on all those things they keep to themselves, or refusing to do the things they remind themselves are bad or dangerous or against the rules. Who cares about rules anymore? Why not just do what they want? Why should they hide how they feel? Why should they keep hiding who they really are? Who came up with all of these silly unspoken rules anyway?

You do not feel a loss of control. To you, it's like being more in control than you've ever been. And choosing to just go with it. You only have one life to live! Regret, remorse and reservation are all just words to you for the day. Just...try not to die or kill anyone.]

{OOC: Mingle post for the event! Your threads can occur anywhere open to the public in the prison, or not-so-public if you're including a closed thread, too. Although, it is encouraged to make your own post if you're keeping it closed to one or a few individuals. If you think you would rather make your own post instead of tagging it onto this one, please feel free!}

[Tieria set this up to a tight feed for a trusted group of people. (feel free to contact me if you're not sure, but it's pretty much CB people and a few of the people he's met here that he really trusts) Behind him, visible to the viewer, was a young cat, washing and looking disinterested.]

I have a favor to ask. I need to know if anyone is available tonight to check on Spot for me. I... have something I need to do.

[Hiling is at the arcade, if the background noise from the games didn't make it obvious. She grins as she displays a new addition she just finished installing. The camera pans from the pilot's seat to the control panel to the screen which shows two mobile suits fighting.]

My little project is nearly complete. The simulator's already got data from a few mobile suits including my own, but I want more. Anyone who wants their mobile suit or equivalent added, come see me at the arcade and we'll get that programmed in. Or just come try it out.

[Sector 4 is a beautiful, landscaped residential area of the dome, where you'll find many homes, as well as parks, a butterfly pavilion, and a beach with an observation deck for the dolphins! It might be a little chilly for a swim, since it's still winter, but there's plenty of things to do.]

[Maybe you're visiting a friend here, or want to get zen by the meditation waterfall, or sit by the koi pond, or admire the massive cherry blossom tree still in full bloom. Or maybe you're just passing through on your way to the coffee shop in Sector 5 or the arcade in Sector 3, and waiting for people to ambush you!]

[So what are you doing? Anytime of day, with anyone! Just put down your characters and tag around!]

Hey everyone. Neil here. Since it's clear out today, I'm going to be on the second big field in Sector 6 later on, for Football class — that's Soccer to most of you American types.

[ He's already dressed for a workout, though it's early, so it's just because of his morning jog. ] Sorry for the short notice, but I'm just feeling a little restless today, so I hope some of you show up to have some fun. [ Said with an easy smile and a wink. ] I'll even make it short practice today, just in case I have to go over the basics for any newcomers. [ A look right into the camera, addressing said newcomers. ] Of course, the more the merrier, so you're all more than welcome to show up, too!

See you on the field. [ Neil gives the camera a two-finger salute before cutting the connection. ]

((OOC: Hand-waving attendance is totally cool! Just let me know if your character would have been there, ICly, so I can have an idea of who all Neil can chat with it about later on. o/ Class style posting is good; mingling, thread-jacks, etc.))

[ Kohran is in a good mood, thanks to yesterday's festivities. She had taken note of Sentience's query, though she thinks she might need more time to ponder over her answer. However, something had been nipping at her brainstems and people will find that this is completely unrelated to machines/robots/general tinkering as she makes her broadcast: ]

Good day, Marina! How are you all doing today?

I was just wondering, would anyone be interested in holding a stage play?

[ She holds up some of the scripts that she had requested from Acumen, notably The Azure Sparrow, Trip to the Occident, and Thousand Furs. ]

We will need actors, people to work on costumes, lights, sounds and stage décor! It won't be something too big, I guess -- something light and fun where we can all work together! What do you think?

(( OOC: Hiatus schmiatus Come one, come all! There's long-term CR to be had (as plays aren't assembled in just days), and time-killing activities for your kids! Oh, and threadjacks are welcome in this post! ))
[Gamewide Mingle: Thanksgiving]
07 April 2012 at 08:25 pm
[At the entrance to Sector 5, several very long tables have been set up outside. Low light is provided by street lamps hung up just for the occasion, a cozy dining room in the middle of the street. There's turkey, mashed potatoes, candied yams, cranberry sauce, and many, many other Thanksgiving favorites. A warm, printed message at the center of the table asks:

In the tradition of the holiday known as Thanksgiving, please feel free to enjoy this meal and think about all the things over the last year for which you are most grateful.

Come one, come all! Food covers the tables, enough for the prison's entire population, courtesy of the bots. Have a nice big dinner with your fellow inmates, and get your CR on!]

[If you know Lacus, you know she's a little overly curious sometimes, so it might not come as a big surprise to see her roaming around, pausing to touch various things, smell some flowers if any happen to be in the area. But she's not usually followed around by an athletic, headphone-wearing brunette who's carrying an impressive laptop/handheld technogadget combo. And usually there aren't electrodes under all that pink hair.]

[Lacus isn't bothered by the rain in the slightest and Rebecca has the equipment covered so they're just as likely to be outside as inside, Lacus playing around in the light rain in clothing that's quite a bit more suited to summer than early spring. At Rebecca's direction, Lacus is idly taking her time to take in whatever's around, whether that's dipping her fingers in the koi pond or nestling into an armchair in the shelter common room or leaning against the brick wall of one of the lesser used buildings. She might sample a few things from the restaurants, too.]

[And if you happen to be around, Lacus might casually ask if she can touch you. Don't worry, it's all for science.]

((OOC: Threads will be with Lacus and Rebecca and can be located anywhere in the dome! Feel free to ask what's going on, or react as if Lacus has approached you. There will be no touching without permission, but she's a hard girl to say no to ^_^ ]

[The shelter is clearly equipped for a celebration to mark the changing of wardens. Everything is neat and tidy, with decorations and a generous food spread laid over the tables for the taking. There’s also the usual entertainment in the common areas – TVs, video games, movies. Maybe you can talk someone into an impromptu karaoke party. Why not? Sentience doesn’t mind.

There’s a party to be had, so get down with your bad self.

Need an invite? Aren’t quite sure what’s going on? Well, here’s a friendly neighbourhood Judith to explain it to you. The camera feed pans over a glammed up corner of the shelter’s common area before going back to her face. It’s clear she’s pleased by the set-up.
]

If I had known this was planned, I would have made some special cupcakes.

[Are you wondering what goes into Judith’s special cupcakes? Keep wondering.]

I suppose after all the excitement from last night, it’s nice to have some fun and relax. I’m not sure it’s fair to have one party directly following another – but maybe I’ll get to make up for missed opportunities. [She wanted to kick a robot’s face in, okay.]

((OOC: Mingle post for Sentience’s party in the shelter! The shelter is decorated with streamers and there’s a feast spread! But only three types of ice cream, though. Create threads and tag amongst yourselves! It’s a celebration, anything goes. Backdated slightly to the early evening.

If you want to respond to Judith via video, feel free! There will be a thread for that right here! Notifs are turned off otherwise.))

[ The feed is on, but it isn't recording anything particularly interesting. The view is sideways as the camera captures the sight of steam and of wet tiles of an open shower room. There are two echoing voices audible over the din of rushing water, but from the way that they are captured one might think at first that it was just one man speaking to himself. Those familiar with the Dylandy brothers for any length of time, however, will quickly notice the manner in which both men speak is different even if their voices are nearly identical. One speaks with a heavier accent than the other, and one is laughing just a bit easier. Both have that tell-tale exasperated sigh, and they cycle through many topics as they clean up; cars, their workout, the church, the stupidity of kissing robots....

Their voices aren't all that they share, either. The two figures step into the view as they leave the stream of water behind to lather up. Convenient censorship is provided by the soap, steam, and streaks of water left behind on the lens. In fact, it's hard to see much more than just the vague outlines of the two of them with their water-darkened hair matted against their faces and necks. Even with a clearer view, it would be nigh impossible to tell the two brothers apart unless you looked closely or, more accurately, they looked back at you up close.

The view is momentarily obscured by a round shadow which, as it moves away and enters into proper focus, can be made out as the green shell of one of the brothers' mechanical companions. An orange ball flies from off-screen to bounce against it, and then ricochets off to hit the communicator. This doesn't disconnect the feed, but the camera tips back and is now filming the ceiling of the shower room, wisps of steam wafting across the field of vision. ]

Oi, Haro. Frederick. Knock it off!
Come on you guys, that's enough.
You're going to break something.

[ A tinny, mechanical voice chimes in apologetically. ] Accident! Accident!

[ One of the voices is closer, now, covering for the sound of wet footfalls as the man approaches what is a pile of clothes and accessories on a bench. He looks down at the device, only his face visible, seems to notice something, and then wipes the water from his right eye. ] ....hey, is this—? [ The thought isn't completed as the recording ceases.

Right now the two men share something else. A single thought: Shit. ]

[ooc: Fanservice is go! Replies can come from either of the brothers not just Lyle]

[ Do you want to kiss a robot? To feel cold metal non-lips against yours?

Of course you do. And here's your opportunity!

Threepio can mostly be found in Sector 2 nowadays, in the library or the education center or the computer lab, generally "lending a hand" (e.g., being completely unhelpful) to anyone unlucky enough to meet his eye. He just wants to be your friend!

He's not sure about this kissing thing. ]

[Anew's in a corner of the library with a bunch of books spread out in front of her. Totally normal, right? Except that she's practically hyperventilating.]

[If you get a peek at what she's reading, you might see a few strange images that have sort of a theme. Her eyes are as wide as they can possibly be as she reads what is apparently a book about someone named May Cutler.]

[Ken's been quiet since his arrival. It wasn't exactly him being anti-social. It was more along the lines of learning his way around... okay, he's been antisocial. Today, though, was different. He's out in the dome, busy exploring.

First stop was the dining hall for a quick breakfast. Learning to cook was something he'd been working on back home, so a quick mental note was made before he moved on. There was plenty to see, but once he saw the sprawling green of the soccer fiend at athletic complex, any other plans for the day had been forgotten.]
