[The feed turns on to the sound of someone snorting and then taking a deep breath. That is your only warning before the scream echoes and quite possibly leaves your ears ringing, if not out right deafens you. Whoops.]

VOOOII!

[He lets the scream echo for a moment before snorting again. His tone carries the sneer perfectly.]

Let's assume for a moment I'm willing to play along with this bag of unparalleled bullshit. So.

[A pause.]

Who else got themselves caught in this fucking mess? Because regardless of whether I'm guilty or not of what-the-fuck-ever nonsense this overeager computer insists I'm guilty of, I can name a good deal of idiots more deserving to be stuck here. And if I'm here and they're not, I'm calling bullshit on the concept of Justice as a whole.

[SNORT]

I was in the middle of something fucking important, goddamnit.

[And then the feed dies.]

[ACTION]

[Should your character investigate the scream, they might end up locating Squalo in the graveyard, perched atop a tombstone, with his gift basket on the ground by its side. Squalo himself is eating pretzels and browsing the network. Like a
Boss troll.]

Hello – is there someone who can hear me? Is what the brochure in the basket said – is it true? We're considered criminals here?

[ She makes a quiet 'mm,' sound, acknowledging and pondering the situation all at once. ]

If that's the case… Is there anyone here who can tell me, have you seen a young girl with a pink ribbon in her hair, named Marlene? She might have had a boy with – [ You can almost hear the slight smile in her voice when she speaks. ] – light brown hair, a bit long, with her. They were with me, not too long ago... Surely, they could have been brought here, too... [ She's concerned, but also very hopeful. It's possible, right? Completely possible.]

I would be grateful for any information you could offer me! I need to find them as soon as I can. [ And then another thought occurs to her. Marlene and Denzel weren't the only members of her family there in the church with them. What if some of the people she knows are already here, and can hear her? ]

Barret? Are you here? [ And, of course... Though he's doing so much better than he was before, she is always concerned for his well being...]

[Flynn is in an even better mood than usual today. he was a little alarmed at first by Sentience's announcement, but as he wandered around the house and thought about Yuri and Judith and what they would be thinking about it, his mind drifted to the less troubled, more insightful, I bet it would be great to brush their hair.]

[which is the story of how Flynn is in a really good mood today]

[Anyone passing by Kurama's home in Sector 4 will notice that there's an unlikely abundance of flowers out in front, most of them out of season. Vines that weren't there the day before are full and blossoming, even threatening to completely obscure the windows. All of this is an exercise of Kurama's powers in their purest form, the plants given life and vigor by his spiritual energy infused into seeds and cuttings. It's almost too much for him, and so, in full view of the prison population, he transforms, the young human man with deep red hair and forest green eyes becoming a demon of pale silver and white with amber eyes and a fox's ears and tale. He can't hold the form for long, and soon, he will reach the limits of his abilities under the warden's restrictions, but for now, he is reveling in the feel of the plants around him and their vinbrant life force.]

I really should have done this a long time ago.

[The warnings have already been given, but it's a little too late. The gas was invisible, untraceable to the normal senses. But someone might feel it. The changes in them if they had been close enough, breathed in too much. Too bad they probably wouldn't care after that either.

It's not such a big deal now, is it? Neither is holding back on all those things they keep to themselves, or refusing to do the things they remind themselves are bad or dangerous or against the rules. Who cares about rules anymore? Why not just do what they want? Why should they hide how they feel? Why should they keep hiding who they really are? Who came up with all of these silly unspoken rules anyway?

You do not feel a loss of control. To you, it's like being more in control than you've ever been. And choosing to just go with it. You only have one life to live! Regret, remorse and reservation are all just words to you for the day. Just...try not to die or kill anyone.]

{OOC: Mingle post for the event! Your threads can occur anywhere open to the public in the prison, or not-so-public if you're including a closed thread, too. Although, it is encouraged to make your own post if you're keeping it closed to one or a few individuals. If you think you would rather make your own post instead of tagging it onto this one, please feel free!}

Just look at you guys, all bright eyed bushy tailed. How are you, Marina?

[ The brightest smiley face you've ever seen on a guy~ ]

I realized I missed newbie day and thought that there's something missing from the Welcome Baskets. [ With that, he holds up a flyer -- ] You know how you're kinda given a heads up with the brochure that tells you about our Wardens who can play around the space-time continuum? Well some kind soul thought that isn't enough so we have this helpful little pamphlet here: "Death Buddies and You"!

[ Then holds up both of his hands as if to stop protests. ] Now now, we're not here to make fun of dead people, just to make sure that people know what they're facing here. I'm no specialist, but if you've got questions I'll do my best to answer. We're handing these out around Sector 0 near the Shelter so inmates old and new are welcome to 'em.

[ Two girls, a brunette and a blonde wave from behind him. ]

Now, for the rules! Rule number one ... [ He then proceeds to read off the rules and after the last rule. ] Not too complicated is it? Well, we're here the whole day so come on down~

(( OOC: Gabriel will mostly be answering network posts, but he has minimally bent the reality around Sector 0 and thus have "Sugar" and "Spice" walk around handing flyers out. So if you tag action, one of the girls will come talk to you :3 ))

[Nill is gone and a certain Albino is starting to panic. He came back to where they were staying to find her missing. She wouldn't have just left without leaving him some sort of message. He hoped no one here took her, for their sake. So now he was out searching the Dome for her. May as well try to reach her on the Network.]

Nill? Where are you?

[Voice a little stern and strained with concern.]

Has anyone seen her?

[Filter: Naoto]

Is she with you?

((ooc: Feel free to run into Haine anywhere in the dome at any time of day. He'll spend all day looking for her (Partially in denial that she was sent back without him) ))

[when Neku wakes up, face-first on the pavement, dazed and confused, he doesn't know what to make of how -- quiet it is. and when the situation comes back to him, all at once in a sickening rush, he shoves his way to his feet and gropes for his pins. he still has them, all of them, even the player pin, even the red skull pin]

[a thousand potential explanations rush through his mind before he notices the explanations right in front of his eyes. he spends a while poring over the welcome message and the brochure, and then listening to the other new arrivals, trying to think about this reasonably instead of freaking out the way he so desperately wants to]

--Hey. [a slightly awkward pause. he's half-buried in his high collar and heavy headphones, but he's working his way out of his comfort zone] This has been way easier to digest than my last impossible kidnapping. So, thanks, I guess. Props to the welcome committee.

I mostly wanted to know if anyone has met a Shiki Misaki, or a guy calling himself Beat. If not, then -- does anyone recognize this?

[In the couple of hours since Aerith has 'woken up' here, she's cycled through several emotions. Surprise and confusion the most prominent, but there's also a sliver of unease tucked away, nagging at her.

She thinks it's because she doesn't have the materia her mother gave her - it's a little bit like her security blanket, even if it was a tiny enough to tuck into the ribbon in her hair.

Disoriented, she has been wandering around in Sector 4, trying to think of what to do next. It's hard to switch from 'lone mission to try to save the Planet' to 'imprisoned underwater with no way out'. Not that she's thinking of escaping - but she does worry about what is happening back home.

Deciding it would be easier to just ask the network in general (and possibly find any of her friends, if they're here), Aerith fiddles with her communicator for a moment before it cuts on.
]

I wonder if I can- oh, I think it's working! [There's an adjustment made to the communicator so it's steady.]

Hi there! Wow, this really different from my PHS. I actually just had a question for everyone - I only arrived a little bit ago.

[It's funny how a few hours can seem like forever when one appears inside an underwater prison.]

I know that someone is sent back in our place... [There's a slight frown on her face before continuing.] What I'm curious about is there a way to find out what is happening back home? Besides asking someone who might have been there, anyway.

[Not that she even knows if anyone from home is actually there with her. She hopes if there is they'll catch this and contact her. She's not comfortable calling out for them over a network - she didn't know who might be listening.]

[OOC:Anyone is more than welcome to run into Aerith while she sticks around Sector 4! She's just kind of aimlessly strolling around, gathering her thoughts!]

[A young teen has left the hospital wing, journeying off to the computer lab. He has been poking around the available databases. One catches his eye. The Criminal Database. It would be useful to know about everyone around him.]

[He begins a videofeed: ]

Greetings, monsters. Or humans, whatever you want to be called. I see a computer- with further reaching arms than Mother- has collected you. Why it does this instead of partial genocide is beyond me. I will not question it for now. It is perhaps there are no innocent humans.

However, as a minority, I feel you should each inform me of what kind of monster you are! It is only fair, right?

Watch as Sougo is slurping and stuffing his face with ramen. What a mess he's making!

And then he decides talking is a good idea.]

This is some shit. Finally got people from my world, but they're assholes. Why couldn't it be anyone good?

[Naoto is familiarizing herself with the headquarter's coffee maker. It's her first day of patrol so she might as well get used to the place. She pours herself a cup, holding the mug as she looks over the watch list once more. She still can't believe that half the things on this list are actually real, like vampires really? And cursed to hurt Japanese? She takes a sip. Man, this place is weird!!]

[afternoon]

[walking around sector one with her sheathed sword visible in her hand. as the black processing plant comes to view Naoto slows down, one hand tightening imperceptibly on the hilt, and eventually comes to a stop right in front of the building. [His voice lowers a bit, less amused, but more serious. He's at the apartment right now, seated on top of his bed and hugging a pillow close. He's kind of been stuck at home for the past couple of days along with his roomie...and he's been thinking about some things.]

17 April 2012 at 09:22 pm
[ He'd come to the library on a whim thanks to a conversation he'd had earlier. It reminded him of something, something he'd been considering ever since he landed in this place. Now the urge to read the entire selection itself was far too tempting. So there he was, volume in hand as he thumbed through the pages in search for that one passage.

You're in for a little poetry today, it seems, inmates. ]

The mind is in its own place, and in itself
Can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven.
What matter where, if I be still the same
And what I should be, all but less than he
Whom thunder hath made greater? Here at least
We shall be free: the Almighty hath not built
Here for his envy, will not drive us hence:
Here we may reign secure and in my choice
To reign is worth ambition, though in Hell:
Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven.

[ And the volume is closed with a decisive thud. He takes a moment to set it down before taking his glasses off and wiping them with a handkerchief. ]

I can't help but wonder if any of you have considered that little passage in reference to our plight. It came to mind, earlier. Should we accept our fate as it is and make the most of the situation or should we fight to regain our freedom? It is after all, what we make of this place.

[ And the smallest smile. ]

Call me a curious man.

[Today is just another normal day in Marina for Zero. It's new inmate day, which for Zero means it's time to update his mental count and ensure that he knows just who in the facility he needs to be keeping a closer eye on. If there is anyone new that he needs to add to the list.

Currently the number is eight. Saya, Diva and Conrad. Damon. Himself and Yuuki. Angel. D--he thinks. Honestly, he's not positive on the last one which is frustrating for him. It's like being around Kaien Kurosu--but worse. One minute, he'd swear he was a vampire and the next--not. He's not used to having his instincts mangeled and unsure.

Still, Zero keeps an eye on him just in case.

Slowly, Zero makes his way through the dome from street to street. Sector to sector. If someone new has arrived today, Zero will know it by the end of the day. He might contact you, he might not. You might see him, you might not. He never reports his findings or outs anyone. If asked, he'd probably even tell you what he was doing if he thought it would be something you'd want to know. There is nothing covert about his mission, he's just checking in on everyone and making sure they are behaving themselves.

Identifying their companions.

The areas they prefer to hang out.

Checking for extreme routine changes if you've been there for a long time.

Information gathering. Patrolling.

Some might even call it stalking.

Zero just calls it, 'being thorough'.]

[ooc: Stalker!Zero can be found anywhere in the dome. By anyone. Feel free to have your character run across him or confront him if he's annoying you or your vampire friends. IF I MISSED ANYONE WHO WOULD BE CONSIDERED A VAMPIRE, please let me know. I'm not Zero. I'm still human and make mistakes.]

Action under cut!! )

[The feed opens up with a view of the Pet Cafe in the background before it turns and is jostled. You can now see the curious Albino, brow furrowed as he studies the device a moment. He sets it aside at an odd angle so you can still watch him,(continuing to ignore the welcome message) seemingly uninterested and unaware the thing is on. He shakes a leg, a look of annoyance crossing his features and you can hear a chain jingle somewhere off screen.]

Tch, what the hell.

[He idly scratches his bandaged throat before picking up a white basket full of goodies. He's picking through it when he finds the brochure, opens it up, stares at the map for a moment, finds he can't read it and tosses it. He pulls out a few things before stuffing them back in and when he finds the bottle of lotion he sort of looks it over curiously. He wrinkles his nose and tosses that too before pulling out the bottle of water.

Slowly he picks himself up along with the communicator which he carries in his hand by his side. He leaves the basket by his feet for now and looks around a bit.

What the hell am I supposed to do now?

Who do you think would win in a fight between Acumen and Sentience? And why should we give a damn about Sentience? I bet they're the same shit. I've been here over a week and I'm already tired of bots running the show. 's not like this is some underwater G*nd*m series.

Speaking of fighting, Michael, day 165 sound good? I'm giving you a little time to train. I don't want to beat you that easily. Also bring a bucket for your blood for you to keep as a souvenir. What do you want me to do with your body when I'm done with you? I gotta make these plans right now so I can reserve a cleanup crew.

[Remember these big brown eyes, Marina? Chun-Li is looking thoroughly confused, and perhaps not just a little queasy. Her long hair is spilling over her shoulders, one bun undone and only lending itself to her frazzled appearance.]

[She doesn't recognize that voice speaking to her, and has no idea what happened to the old Warden. Not that she had any lost love for Acumen Has she been knocked out for--nearly a week and a half? She shakes her head, trying to get rid of the disorientation. She’s in an entirely different area—out near the dojo, in fact, and she knows that was not where she was only seconds ago. Her muscles are practically humming with energy, and she’s not afraid to defend herself if something bad is going on.]
