Hannibal's Hotel and Restaurant

Once again in spite of knowing it was a challenge Gwen was sitting in the hotel lobby hitting redial on her cell phone. She was also trying just about every number in her phone book from Jack and Ianto to the recently deceased Tosh and Owen (even she knew just hearing Owen's voice mail would make her cry once again) along with Martha, Andy and Rhys. "Just bloody pick up already! Even being able to curse out Saxon would be a start at this point!!" she hissed as she slammed her fingers into the keypad.

Only 2 people within the hotel knew how miserable she really was: the 10th Doctor and Jo. But to be honest maybe all Gwen needs is an open ear and someone from her world to be pulled into the world of crazy that was the hotel. "Well I can be sure its not the Rift but I even have doubts about that" as she slammed the next round of numbers into her keypad. But if anyone picked that moment to brave the lobby they would find a woman who had hardly slept much less eaten anything, still ankle deep in grief.

The Doctor paced around in his tux, glancing about at the buffet. The colour scheme for the party was done in his favourite colours, ocean blue and earthy browns. The food and drink covered a wide range of interesting selections. He indicated all the guests' tastes had to be represented and it certainly seemed as if they had been. To his slight amazement, there were even some Gallifreyan dishes. But why be amazed? he asked himself as he paced. Considering how this place or Lightbringer could pluck seemingly anyone from their own time and space, why would cuisine from his original world be a surprise?

His look instantly went from bemused to a big grin when someone arrived to officially make the occasion a gathering.

"Hello! I'm glad you could make it!!" he exclaimed. His long stride carried him past the arranged chairs and tables so he could greet the arrivee.

Sipping from the cup of delicious tea, the Doctor contemplated the presentation of biscuits on the plate in front of him. A waitress had asked him what he wanted almost before he had a chance to sit down, making him think that he either made a favourable impression on the staff or that she secretly had a TARDIS.... He furrowed his brow at this inner joke which quickly turned into sadness.

How he missed the Old Girl....

He reached for a biscuit, biting into it and glancing out the window into a gardenscape to try distracting himself as he waited.
