First off, I wanted to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday, whether via owl or by stopping in the shop. It was very appreciated, and I had a good day. Bast even left me a live and unharmed (if slightly terrified) bird in my work room. It was a parakeet, and I'm not sure where she found it, but it has been given its own cage and seems to be settling in behind the counter at the store very well. Go Bast.

Call me ridiculous, but I'm very nervous to be sending Owen off to school this fall. It suddenly seems to be coming up on me more quickly than I could imagine. He might not be mine by blood (better not be, with me being my age!) but I love him dearly, and I'll miss him while he's away.

How the hell does anyone manage to do this every year? Even without the added stress of all the things associated with us

There are many people here who miss many people who have passed on in the years, I know. And I mourn many of the same people.

But next month is the anniversary of a death very dear to me and my family, and like every year it arrives, I do not know how I should handle it. Especially for Tsvetatanka. I want to have something done for her, and this is the first year we've really been out on our own without surrounding drama since everything happened.

I think I should figure out a routine for this, but right now I suppose I am just overwhelmed with the prospect.

Bloody hell, London; get your weather together - it's summer! It's the same temperature here in London as it is in Thundelarra and it's winter there. It's always a weather shock when I come back, but it's permanent this time! I'm back home for good.

Mum and Dad want me to stay with them, but I don't think I could handle it. Thankfully, I've got a most wonderful friend who is letting me stay with her and her two kids for a while. I really hope to find a place that's available shortly enough.

I'm ready to catch up with friends... in person, for once!
