I shampooed three times this morning and stayed in the shower for thirteen minutes and there is still glitter. And there were only 8 pieces of sausage in my omelet so I couldn't eat it. I was late to Transfigurations because I had to wait for the stairs to change again. In Arithmancy, Professor Stark made a mistake and did four examples in class. The classroom chairs were in four rows.... only two doors... just one window... Even the total is wrong… four plus two plus one is seven. It’s a prime number but not the right one. I checked the wards on my truck three times but something is still not right....

Everything is wrong today.

GUYS, GUYS, GUYS. Who wants to figure out how to get to the top of the castle, and build a giant water slide that drops straight into a giant pool? I think we can do this. We need good charmers, fliers, and engineers. It's fucking hot, and there has not been nearly enough skin shown these first few weeks in a public forum.

Alright Hogwarts, Michael Meru here. I figured that as Head boy, I should probably say hi and remind everyone that the new semester is a chance to be who you really want to be and succeed. It's a new year after all and a new start! The regular school rules apply as always. Curfew will be enforced by prefects and teachers. The forbidden forest is always forbidden. (Especially to all the magical creatures fans.) And if you see smoke coming from the eastern corridor on the third floor, please just ignore it. It will go away quickly.

Now for Ravenclaws! Quidditch tryouts are this Friday. Remember, we're going to win this season and best of all, we're going to beat Gryffindor. So let's get some fresh blood out there and eager to play, right?

Also, I just want to remind people that should they wish to find me for my birthday tomorrow. I will not be in the lab. I know how much that pissed everyone off last year.

Sometimes, I do wonder how my fellow housemates are capable of having so much energy when none of them ever seem to sleep. Whether it's the incident of the evening, or any other caused by one of them, they're always up.

That being said, has anyone heard anything more about the Death Eaters? I'm up and curious about it. After all that happened, there seems to be a lot of quiet on the news front all of a sudden...

How's everyone doing? I hope settling back in the past few days has gone well. I'm really happy to see you all again and be back in my dorm, but it's SO strange coming back and knowing that this will be my very last year. How do you just move on from something that's been apart of your life for so long? How am I supposed to do that? Especially since I still have NO IDEA what I'm doing after graduation. Hmph. Welcome back, everyone! And welcome to Hogwarts, newbies! For those of you that aren't aware, I'm Selphie and I'm your Head Girl this year! Michael Meru and I are hoping to get some good things going this year, we have a few ideas up our sleeves that I won't spoil for you all (teehee!)

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm SUPER DUPER excited this year! Phooey on that rumor mill, none of you should take that seriously at ALL, but if anyone wants to talk or has any idea who wrote that, please let me (or Meru) know!

Sorry, sorry. I lost myself reading the past few days I think. Do you ever get lost in a really good book, then start to think about how the author was feeling or what they were thinking when they were writing it? My favorite author lately has been Poe. I don't know why. It's summer, not fall. But, I find myself intrigued by his use of language and even his style of writing reads like it's meant to be read out loud.

Sometimes I do get lonely here, but at least there's always Nina outside. She's my stallion. Quite beautiful, too. Grandfather tells me that she's getting older, but I'm hoping that's not true.

I think I'm done rambling for now. I can't wait for Quidditch later this summer!

Today has probably been one of the best days ever. Mother took me supplies shopping for school since we just got the list a couple of days ago. She felt that it was important that we get it all early. I managed to sneak away from her watchful eyes for a moment and I made my way to the wand shop since I spoke to the kindly owner about the wands. I had tried a couple a few days ago, but none of them had been the right fit since my old wand was not mine broken.

It took a few tries, but I happened upon the most beautiful wand and the feeling that I had holding it... it was just indescribable. Mr. Olivander said that it was made with pear wood and unicorn hair.

So I came home today from camping and there was the strangest thing on my bed at first. There was one of my winter boots there, but then what popped it's head out surprised me.



Da was apparently waiting for me to show with this little cutie as an apology for being gone most of the summer working. He also suggested that I maybe have a girls' night. So ladies, who would like to come and sleep over in hopes of doing all the traditional girly things?

So I know all of you have been waiting with baited breath to see what I would get as a pet. Well you don't have to wait any longer! Here he is!



Meet Batman! I fell in love the moment I saw him and I knew I had to have him. I think dad is a little impressed that I went with a dog and not say a cat or toad.

I got a copy of the rules and guide for school and there is nothing in there that says I can't have a dog. I guess it is just uncommon because they can be a lot of work but I'm up for the challenge!

I love journals! I'm so excited to have one to keep in contact with all of you beautiful people! I had tons of handwritten journals growing up, but these kind seem way cooler.

I hope everyone is having a super-duper-mega-awesome summer! Mine is EXCELLENT so far! I celebrated my birthday recently with my mom and dad; we went to a really delicious Chinese place and they bought me a really cool case for my guitar, some new clothes, and they gave me some extra pocket money for when I go off to school. They're so great! I LOVE them!

As if my parent's strictness wasn't enough, New York seems to be going through a freaking heatwave. It's too hot and muggy to go out and do anything fun, and there really isn't anything to do inside beyond sit around in the AC. There's nothing to read, nothing on tv, and I finished my summer homework ages ago. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I can't wait till school starts up again. At least then I'll be able to do stuff.

On the plus side, my parents haven't started talking up suitable suitors for me like I feared they would since I'm starting to get 'that age'. Then again, to get married off the other people kinda have to know that I exist.

Most of the summer has passed me by without really being aware of it! I can't believe it. I've gotten some very exciting news over the summer, though. I'm to be the new Gryffindor prefect this upcoming school year. I couldn't be more thrilled! It's such an honor. Grandfather says that only people with integrity are chosen for it. I'm not really sure if that means that I qualify really, but I guess...someone saw something in me that merits leadership? I don't know. Most of the time I'd rather hide behind my books. They, at least, I know what to expect from.

I've been out riding on horses a bit this summer too. I'm getting pretty good! It's so peaceful out there. I met a girl new friend, too. She's got pretty blond hair. Saved me once on my horse when I was about to make a fool of myself. Guess it's not hard to do, though, since I'm not really all that athletic. I mean, I manage on the Quidditch team and everything, but that's only because I practice a lot. And I can come up with some really good plays, apparently.
