Mon dieu. Ain't so sure ol' Remy's cut out for puttin' up with a pack of teenagers again.
Especially when they mine. Ain't sayin' they a handful, or hard to deal with or nothin', but this ain't the same as being guidance counselor in a private school.
Least this kind of bein' in over my head is slightly less fatal than the other times I been. Any parents of suddenly-grown up teenagers got any pointers? |

Così dicendo, intorno a la fontana Brancolando n'andava come cieco O quante volte abbraciò l'aria vana Sperando la donzella abbracciar seco.
What fools these mortals be! Dear divinities, hear my calling, for he has lain in Tartarus these past eons and I have found myself unfaithful. Unfaithful! And with this ring, we did wed, a lain together to bear Asteria, she of the stars, and Leto, the beautiful one persuaded most egregiously by a swan. I rubbed it between the lips of my orbit. O, aghast, aghast was I! To see him there, and to chase my other, til she flung and became Delos, floating without a port or anchor...my sweetest child! She of Inquirer and Intellect!
Ah, it is lost, so lost. A lifetime in the pits of Dis, he has found himself there now. And now, on my own, for the first time, unfaithful! Unfaithful! For so long, and now I am the same as my sisters! The others of us, with their many children from many others, taken and moved and thrown apart like rags, like rags with all their ills and just to bear—
Is there no god or divinity aside for me, for me? My flesh and blood and that which bore the mainstays of our kind, have I been cast aside? Aside for so long, to never feel such pleasures again?
S'il vous plaît me fait plaisir à juste titre!
[ooc. so a little explanation. phoebe's the only of her sisters to remain loyal to her husband even though he's been enslaved in tartarus forever. however, if she loses her ring, then she'll slowly forget. she lost her ring quite some time ago and cheated with hades, her nephew/brother, and now she's found it. and while she's full of regret, she's just had sex for the first time in the history of man, essentially, and she's a greek goddess who settled in france. basically, any demons/gods/angels/wtfever that aren't taken are being requested for an audience. the last line is, roughly, french for "please pleasure me rightly!" and the italian is taken from one of casanova's short stories. HAVE FUN? :D] |

Maker, I forgot how much fun it is playing card games with people who don't know me. I was at the poker table for two hours tonight in Monte Carlo, and there was only one bloke who seemed to be able to read me at all. I came away with twenty-eight hundred euros and another bloke teaching me a brand new insult in French. Apparently 'putain' is sort of an all purpose profanity; I'll remember that! |

I'd like a quick head-count of the spheres now, since there's a few of you missing from your bins, and walking around in bodies.
I get one tiny little mortal body and start a trend. See how things are?
Not you, Wheatley, I know where you are and what you're doing, and frankly, if I cared enough to exterminate you, I would. But being a little troll shuffling around in a dead-end job is worse than any death I could cook up for you. |

The world shakes and the winds blow all around. Variance in meteorology, I do believe they call it. Earthquakes. Tsunamis. Tornadoes in the Southeast of America, then up further, and now they are destroying Texas and Oklahoma. Calypso is displeased, or perhaps Poseidon has issued some form of control over her.
I wonder what dearest Amphitrite would be doing, now that her seas are full of waste and her husband's horses' leak acid.
The Rapture was nonsense. Now he says it was spiritual, not factual. October 21, he says, will be the end of the world.
Odd, though, that two of my family are among us...odder still, to think that the deities that frequent amongst us wouldn't happen to hear nary a word towards the destruction of all the earth.
What does this "prophet" know? Nothing. As she who was third in line to proceed over the Oracle at Delphi, I feel rather insulted. |

This newest devastation in Australia has left me beside myself with grief. I can feel Mother Earth's pain every time I see a picture, or every time I hear about. Gaia is weeping. Mother is groaning. I cannot help but hear her pleas for relief and respond to them in the best way I can.
I'll be going to the site of the wreckage and putting all of myself and gifts into the recovery. If anyone would like to rise to the occasion with me, that would please me greatly, and you can tell me here or give me a call at [phone number]. International, day or night, it does not matter. I will be leaving the outskirts of London and heading there via portkey Tuesday morning.
Whoever is responsible for such damage has my utmost in the way of disgust. Such a reckoning is far past even my grandchildren, my grandchildren who slew Niobe's brood after she dared to stab the back of her old friend, my daughter. To think they learned nothing of vengeance from the grandmother that bore stars, moon, sun, and a grand deal of knowledge and foresight is nothing more than folly. How dare such power be misused? Horrendous. I feel anger very rarely, but now my wrath is coming on. The moon, the sun, the stars, sky and space above and below have served me well, but I dare not allow them to cross with my dismay. |

The stars are so quiet and sullen as of late. Aries is never the best of times, of course...and with a dragon flying about, you'd imagine they'd be much happier.
I long to see my family again. It has been very joyous to visit so many others, but I find myself growing slightly jealous that so many of their own families are here, which is very unlike me.
Ah, but an old woman thinks too much, and there's too much rambling in her head. The terrible destruction in Japan has upset me greatly—is there anything I can do to help, are any among our number there? I'm no nurse, but you don't live as long as I have without some form of medical training. I'm willing to donate whatever I can, just say the word. I promise not to wax lyrical on you :) |

It's official; I'm retired yet again.
It was perfect timing, having been brought here, I must confess. Khaos always has a plan, the father-mother truly does.
I've visited California for a few days, and I've taken up residence in London at the moment in a small hotel, which is quite charming. I'd like to know if anyone resides in London and wouldn't mind a guest for a little while.
Oh, heck! After London, does anyone have suggestions for where to travel next? I've hardly been outside the romantic countries and some parts of America and Iceland before, I do need to start traveling more. I have enough to pay rent, and I'm very good in the kitchen. I'm quite handy with sewing as well, and I can clean a house top to bottom in two days, tops. Anyone who'd like to show me around here and there is also welcome.
I remember having an invite to Uruk, and to parts of France from very pleasant beings, so where would you recommend after those? London, I would say, then Uruk to get out of Europe for some time, and then back to France...what's the newest places of culture a woman ought to visit? Any offers and suggestions are most appreciated, lovelies! |

Thanks to some fantastic help, Flyleaf Books [London address] is officially open for business. We've kind of been open all week, and in a clever marketing ploy, the grand opening is Friday.
We'll have a whole lot of fun stuff, live music, autograph signings with local authors, food, always the food. Even a raffle and some book give-aways.
If you've got gift certificates (and I'm sure there's a few of them still drifting around) from the former Sign of the Weasel, bring them by, we'll honor them during the grand opening weekend only. |

Honestly!
I'm currently staying inside a castle shaped like a dragon. The security seem to be fond of gimp masks. They sign up to die for the band. Fans are so fanatical they will commit suicide if an album isn't dropped on time. The cook makes strange noises, but he's quite pleasant, I've found. And he knows how to make a killer breakfast. But there's also strange appearances of blood, and I stepped in some without realizing it.
But the beauty, it's beyond your dreams. The art is fantastic. The music, still, it's not my taste, but there is wonderful harmony being played at the moment (I swear there's three sets of drums, one trying to plea for rain, one summoning minotaurs, and one with a drummer hyped on those damn energy drinks and trying to get over it). This place is, well, completely ungodly in every form and fashion for someone like me, but here I am.
And you know what? Judge not lest ye be judged is possibly the most intellectual thing Jesus ever said. Of course, he then went on to tell the Sanhedrin that they were not of Abraham, but of the devil, and they goaded him and goaded so much so he called them out as devil-worshipers, and had to hide from being stoned...so make of that what you will.
In other news, returning to work early Wednesday morning. Why didn't anyone tell me about portkeys? I was handed a manky old boot and given no more information. I nearly...sicked up all over a terrifying fauna tyrannosaurus rex. This place is like Edward Scissorhands on Elm Street, honestly. A little warning would have been most appreciated!
Ah, but I complain in my old age. How fares the general populous? There are so many of you I have not spoken to, I fear I make myself too unapproachable most times. |

Now that I have been given more classes to teach, it seems I have ignored this for much too long.
Spring break is arriving soon. For those of you who are students, what are your plans for it? Hopefully no drunk driving and the like.
I can't fathom the amount of money the energy drink companies make these days, nor can I believe half the things I'm reading about issues across the world, some for good and some for bad. Finally, the Egyptians have made a stand, and they are free! I've not met many of the Egyptians in so long it seems that I never met them at all, but if there are any of you here, congratulations! I could not be prouder of a people that is not and never has been my own. Mubarak's reign of terror is relinquished; Kemet has truly won! This is honestly a time worth celebrating, and I hope that all goes smoothly and well after all is said and done.
Has anyone heard about the "spice" in America as of late? Synthetic marijuana, foolish children smoking it simply for a high and being poisoned. Not to mention those Four Lokos and whatnot. It seems like the more we progress in regards to proper foods and getting them without things like pesticides, and without pus and blood and radioactive ingredients in this like milk and cheese, the world comes up with new ways to harm our youth and our overall population...what I wouldn't give for a proper Greek feast, or a proper European dinner. As much as I love the French, sometimes these healthy meals focused on filling the stomach to its proper fullness don't quite cut it. I'd die for a large bowl of pasta, for wine and song and dance...ah, but I'm reminiscing now.
Hades, how do you fare? I feel the presence of our family members has diminished, and I am not sure what to make of such a thing. Do you feel the same as well? And Mister Cassidy Turner, how goes your schooling? And Miss Gaz Membrane (Wartooth, was it?) how's it going with your "band"? |

With as little as I know about Halo and various X-Box games, and only because they're the underlying reason that students have issues with homework whether or not they realize I can hear them talking about all-nighters and teammates in Sweden, and with as little as I know about World of Warcraft, whose "raids" cause my students to refrain from sleeping at home and therefore come into class hyper and wired off of Red Bull and everything else...I know that this is too bizarre to be something I can relate to. Even with the surge of End of the War movies, the mass production of death as a form of entertainment on various consoles, and with all the talks of dying bees throughout the world, there's nothing to relate what just happened to the world I knew and have spent many years in. Not a thing.
So here I find myself, still, in the university, though I seem to be confused for a different teacher. I teach Art History three days a week, not Art History, Renaissance Art, and special studies on Greek and Roman sculptors. Amusing, the artists back then, but not worth the hassle of making new tests to grade and trying to keep my own personal interest from their varied histories out of it. I've been doing this for too long not to subtly insert good or bad qualities against them.
Where have I found myself? I feel a right fool, using one of these silly machines in a last-ditch attempt to find out what has happened in the past few hours, but perhaps technology has a use or two. |
