Yes. Today's felt a little slow, what can I say?

I have an idea forming, if those capable of performing magic were to create a sort of dome-like enclosed space, we could throw a winter party in what looks like a reverse snow globe. That could be fun, should we want to hold some sort of town-wide gathering again. Perhaps we could make ice cream out of the snow. My mother and I used to make it when I was a child. Very delicious if made properly.

Greetings, everyone.

I was able to find a great deal of classic Muggle literature in my latest venture through the doors to look for stock for the library. So the first thing I want to say is that there is an influx of new material to read.

The next thing I wanted to discuss with anyone interested, is something that could get the whole town involved in doing if enough interest is in it. When putting away the new books I found in their shelves, I thought perhaps it might be entertaining and a good way to pass the time if we put on a play. Or perhaps a series of short plays if enough people are interested, based on scenes in famous literature. You wouldn't have to necessarily act to participate. We would need to build a stage, sets, have costumes. It would be a good deal of work, but it seems free time is of abundance around here, and it might be a good way to do something together other than party -- not that, mind you, the parties aren't glorious. It would just be something a bit different, which could be a good thing. And of course there could be after parties after the show itself is put on.

Anyway, if you're interested, let's have a conversation about it. I certainly don't have experience in the area, but it could be quite the adventure.

I've been spending a lot of time prowling the book collection at the library, and picking up books wherever I can find them to help keep our shelves stocked. I've gone through quite a few of them there.

I've just finished the book I was reading, and I'm ready to start another. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should read next?

I apologize for waiting this long to say this, but I've been pretty up and down lately. First, thank you to all who were so kind, understanding, and helpful to me. It isn't everyday for me to receive that sort of response to my affliction, so I greatly appreciate it. Second, I must again offer my most sincere apologies for putting the town in danger, and for all the damage an injury the wolf -- I -- caused.

I would also like to share that I have somehow, by undetermined means, received a case containing several vials of what I believe to be a potion that allows me to retain my mind during the full moon so I will be of no harm to anyone, including myself. It'll be like having a big fluffy dog running around once a month. However, I need to do a little experimentation to be certain that it actually is that potion to be safe and I intend to mostly save it for an occasion like the one we unfortunately found ourselves in this past month.

Coming with a request for the library team. We're still under construction - and thank you to everyone who's volunteered their time and talent to help get the building set up, it's incredibly appreciated - but I'd like to start having specific lists we can consult when we're starting scavenging to fill these shelves that are being built.

This is a place to post any specific titles - books, DVDs, music, research materials, what have you - that you've been particularly jonesing for, so we can do our best to keep an eye out. Please feel free to message me privately if there's any requests you're not comfortable letting the general public know you'd like: I will not tell on you if what you want more than anything in the world is the Twilight series, movies about singing chipmunks, or 1970s porn magazines.

I know there are a lot of reference things we need to be on the lookout for, but please don't be shy about requesting anything you'd like for entertainment purposes, either. I'd like to have an individual list for everyone - the whole idea behind the library is to make it a true community space.

I wanted to reach out to you in light of some developments my companions and I have made on the magical end of things in Starklandia.

Back in our world, we were able to create something of a tracking device to keep eyes on all those in the castle where we attended school. It was a map of the castle itself and the surrounding property. We were able to use a series of complicated tracking and identity revealing spells that allowed us to track each individual in the school in real time. When looking at it, you can see where anyone is at any time, see where they're going.

In light of recent events, Sirius Black and I have been working on developing the same thing here. We started it after I first arrived, but really grew more diligent in finishing it once our best friend and Sirius' younger brother disappeared. Aforementioned friend has since returned, but I understand from observation that we have recently lost some others. My hope is that by having a map of Starklandia with these same tracking attributes, it will help to keep watch of those who are here.

However, I can understand if such a thing would be considered invasive, which is why I wanted to reach out to you and seek your opinion -- Is this something to be shared? I used the data you gathered of those who checked in to finish casting the tracking spells, along with those I've simply seen in town and know they are still accounted for. It might make it easier, in the future, to keep up with those of us still present.

Let me know your thoughts on if such a device should be used, and where you think it should be kept.

While it's not nearly as pressing a need the list that Tony Stark very capably and thoughtfully outlined for us: there's been some discussion between a few of us about setting up a library.

Barbara and I are in the preliminary stages of planning - there's an empty building near Gwen & Jan's store that I think would work well for it, and it's got a room overhead that I might stake out for myself (unless anybody's called dibs) - but there are a couple things we'd love a little help with to get it off the ground.

1) Any other volunteers who love books, and cataloguing, and organizational systems. We'd love another team member.

2) Any volunteers to scavenge building materials and/or to actually build things, because we're gonna need bookshelves on bookshelves on bookshelves, and hopefully we can fill them. My personal skills with carpentry thus far include "able to tell the difference between a saw and a hammer" and "able to hold a hammer, probably", end of list.

3) Books, books, books. Whatever you're willing to donate that you have on you, or whatever you're willing to bring back on your various travels. If people have requested titles, I think we'd also be happy to be the keeper of those lists and pass on to our scavengers.


I'll defer to Barbara in the comments for anything I haven't listed.

Again, none of this is priority stacked up next to the Tony List! Just things to keep an eye out for, or if you have a little free time and want to come lend a hand. It'll be fun, and it'll hopefully make our corner of the world a little brighter. Thanks for the read.
