+ What are partner threads?
• Partner threads are a great way to encourage and give opportunities for random interactions between characters! Each month, we'll use a random number generator to pair up two writers! Each pair may use a partner thread up to 2 times to gain an extra item from home!

+ How does my character arrive?
• Not by choice! They're going to appear pretty much from whatever moment in their canon point you choose. They'll start out in the town square. Conveniently (for us players), there'll be a little table with a phone, connected to a communication network.

+ If everyone arrives at once, why do more characters come and go?
• Time is relative! No, seriously. Everyone is coming from different dimensions, worlds and places -- it stands to reason that time doesn't work the same everywhere. Just go with it.

+ Are there NPCS?
• The town is empty beyond those who show up there.

+ What is the town like? What kind of amenities does it offer?

• The town looks cute and hospitable, but once people begin to explore and look inside the buildings, they’ll find it’s a fairly empty and run-down place to live. No electricity, no running water (save for working toilets, you’re welcome), no modern gadgets that many may have found themselves relying on in their own time. This, however, doesn’t mean the town can’t be made to be livable! With some hard work and scavenging, the town can become as perfect on the inside as it looks on the outside. Here is a really, really badly drawn map.

• What is in the town, to start with? Buildings. Plenty of them - in fact, for some reason, the buildings never seem to run out. Don’t worry about that! A big courtyard that has a fairly large pond in the middle of it, a well (for even more water!), and there’s also a garden where fresh fruit and vegetables can be found and grown. There’s also

• A bizarrely mysterious building right on the outskirts of everything else. It’s not meant to be lived in. Mostly, because when any given door is open, a room isn’t revealed so much as an entire alternate reality. Who wants to explore? (More info can be found here.)

• What do our characters do after arriving and settling in a little? Everyone has their own talents and strengths, and whether your character wants to try their hand at opening up a business in one of those empty buildings or just helping out in someone else’s is up to them. But they’ve probably got to do something. No one likes a slacker. Your character doesn’t have to know what they’re going to do immediately, but they might want to start thinking about it! Ideas and already taken businesses can be found here!

• Is this town on Earth? Well. No. It looks like it and acts like it in terms of weather and housing, but it’s not Earth so much as a mistake that just happened somewhere in the cracks of reality and time. This means that not everything is going to be the same! For instance, even with the phone network in play, at the moment (gameplay could very well change these facts!) there is no internet. There was no electricity to start, but they've collaborated and fixed that issue since game start.

+ What can my character bring with them?
• Well, since they’re not showing up by plan or on choice, it’s really only what they have on them! And in some cases, depending on how and when they’re showing up, maybe a few other things. (IE: if your character was riding a bike when The Snap happened, they might very well arrive with a bike!) If they’re bringing anything but themselves with them, you absolutely have to let the mods know about it in your application!
