I apologize for the length of this; however find the contents below to be entirely necessary for the upcoming days.
For those who do not know me (first of all you have my sincere apologies for not introducing myself), my name is Remus Lupin. I'm one of the wizards, here from a world where magic exists. I understand many of you are either not well, or find yourself in a state of discomfort and inconvenience due to this sickness that seems to have spread to many. I cannot be certain why, but I myself have not been afflicted and find my magical capabilities still intact. For all intents and purposes, this should be a good thing. And in some ways, it is. I can assist anyone who needs it, for now. This brings me to my next point.
Up until today, this has been something I've only made aware to some on a needs to know basis because it has not been a problem. It also isn't something you just tell people in my world due to the repercussions that tend to follow. With the current situation being what it is, however, I have no choice.
I am a werewolf. Yes, you read that correctly. While I hardly believe it's the strangest or most dangerous thing many of you have come across in your lifetime, I feel certain we can all agree that given the circumstances with many of you being under the weather, it does pose a risk to the town. In months past since my arrival, my fellow wizards have been able to help handle it, or we've gone through the doors to some place more ideal to keep any danger from befalling the town.
I feel it pertinent to bring this to everyone's attention. Werewolves are every bit as horrific and violent as you might have read in your world's lore, though I know from my own reading there are some differences. Silver bullets will not put me down. Silver in general, will not do anything to harm me, stop me, or slow me down. Wolves, in general, would not normally attack a human unless provoked or if they feel threatened. Werewolves, however, will exclusively seek out humans to attack them and pose little thread to any other creatures -- that is, your Pokemon will be safe.
In the upcoming days, I'm going to start to become very ill. In the hours leading up to the full moon's rise, I will undergo the process of the transformation. I would ask please no one be nearby during this process. It is, well, to continue on this this journey or brutal honesty -- it is a very disturbing process to go through or witness. Once the transformation is finished, the wolf will be active until the moon sets and the sun begins to rise. Then, the wolf will grow more lethargic, more inclined to retreat to some place to make the transition back (again, I ask for privacy, please, but understand if it cannot be granted in either case).
I suppose, what I'm trying to accomplish by revealing all of this to you is to say -- whatever you wish to do, please protect yourselves. I would ask, I hope, to please not kill me if it can be avoided? I don't know what level of protection can be provided to the town the way we've been able to do in months past. If the wolf -- Moony, as we've named him -- leaves the forest, he'll come to the town and seek out humans to attack.
The possibility of coming up with a way to contain the wolf is not an impossibility, but there will be a price I have to pay for that. I am fully willing to do it for the betterment of the town, however.
The full moon is in six days. Please, stay inside. Barricade your doors. If there is a need to fight Moony in order to protect yourself, I understand and encourage it. If my life can be spared, I would be most grateful, however, I do not place my worth above another, and understand drastic measures might need to occur.
Thank you, and again, my most sincere apologies to have to bring this to light.
