[When you make it to the arena, there looks to be a few new installations: a couple of step ladders on one side, a giant locked trunk on another, and right between the two is one URAEUS member, sitting off to the side with a notebook in hand.]

((OOC: Mingle will be short (30 min) and the game will be in three parts, but there is no time limit as to when to finish all three. Game will end at approximately 8:30pm PST/11:30 EST. [There is an Ophi sitting on a rock near the river. Beside her is a stack of cards, and a basket to of some cheese, bread, meat, and eggs. Though only a very small amount in the basket, being more of a lure for people to come over to her.]

The servants of the great Guardian Serpent yawned as they uncoiled themselves, stretching the limbs that their keeper lacked.

It was quite early, but a great smell lured them all to the common area: the familiar, if forgotten, odor of baked goods sitting on a window sill to cool, the sharp tang of cheeses, and the savory aroma of meats. Their noses did not lie! Waiting for the servants was a grand spread of the delicacies, jams and spreads offered as well as a bonus. What a fine breakfast this would make! But there was another seated at the table, one not of their rank.

Why, it was a Judge! One deemed Storyteller. She slithered around, chair to chair, happy to see the Ophiuchus. She had work for them, it seemed! The food wasn't all for them, but blanks as well.

"Surely there must be a price for such treats?" The blanks of black thought.

Indeed, there was. The Judge motioned at a small stack of cards, tasks to be offered to the poor, deprived Blanks of the South Block. But would they be interested? Ahhh, the story had to continue~!

[It seems, for a snake that tends to sleep so much of the time, that when it DOES wake up and move, shaking the dorm beneath your beds and waking you from your slumber, it's ALWAYS horribly, horribly early.]

Ssssso, it issss how you have deccccided.

[In that moment, there is a sweeping change through the dorms. Your accomodations, your food, the quality of clothes you wear. Uraeus this time, has come in last, with Uroboros taking a sweeping lead.

... And curiously enough, as the changes recede, there are two envelopes with the king's seal on two nightstands, one to Marla, and one to Geddoe.]

[Today, sometime after dinner time, should you be passing through the room with the great staircase, or honestly even close enough to hear the frantic, scrabbling footsteps, you probably are just in time to meet the latest Uroboros blank.

Not that he knows this, or even has any markings of being on Uroboros yet. He is, however, quite winded, and even more intent on getting way the hell away from whatever horrifying monster is down there.]

[He plasters himself to the far wall and THEN looks around.]

[When the torches finally starts to dim and not long before curfew kicks in, any Ophi in the common room of the dorm might hear the sound of wings flapping as a faceless bat flies into the romm and comfortably settles itself, hanging upside down from the ceiling. Where it's face and head should have been there is in it's place a nondescript clump of uneven fur, and yet you still feel watched.]

Ophiuchus, I have work for you. Even if you do not choose to accept, there is something you should know.

[Any observant person would also have noticed that on the table there is now an open box containing little vials of a suspicious looking black liquid.]

[There's a loud call coming from the arena... more like ambulance sirens. It's really too loud to ignore.

If you manage to wade out towards the arena, you'll find several large platform to keep yourself dry and off the ground and a MYSTERIOUS BOX that's currently locked. There's also a couple of chairs off to the side, but trust me, you don't want to sit there.

Several Uraeus members are milling about.]

[As the torches dim and Shadow's impenetrable blackness sets in, it becomes dark. Very dark. At least, if you're a regular blank -- there are several Ophi out and about with lightless lanterns, prowling the dark for stray blanks. Is anybody out there breaking curfew tonight?]

[Out in the dorm areas, there is an extremely frustrated Ophi stalking about. She's smoking and steaming but not setting anything on fire. yet. She's carrying a basket of fruit and other small items on one arm as she stalks about. Better catch her before the treats get roasted.]

Go and do something more productive, he says. Stop setting my thing on fire, he says. I'll just have to burn something else.

(( OOC: It is totes possible to talk her into accepting something else instead of burning for food! So is getting interference for your character before burning happens. Just let me know that's what you'd like to do. :|d ))

[Each Ophiuchus have heard this, be it on the air, from an animal, from the Oracle deep in his mountain sanctuary, or the vision of their god themselves:

The Old Woman angers, and her fury is terrible. The Gods are speaking with her, calming her flames; however, wish to protect the people of their lands.

Scatter to the sacred countries of the First Land. Worry not for those on other parts of this world, we do for them what we can. To each of the countries, you are to tell them to bring their builders, machinery and magic. To bring food and supplies of water. To bring their people, and resources, wood and stone and metal. They must gather at the base of the great mountain.

A grand structure will be erected under the oversight of the Oracle. When it is complete it will be blessed by the Gods all and one, as the greatest shelter during this time of trouble.

This must be complete by the end of this year, or all shall be lost.]

[Each are also told that if negotiations fail or this tithing to the Gods are lackluster or weak, they have authority to take over the rule of the country.]

[A few Ophiuchus are homeward bound and decide to stop to survey the land. As in their youth, the place remains calm and quiet and yet full of the energy most Lacertans are glad to call home.]

[dear colored blanks. one of your favorite Ophiuchus is taking the time to wander about. this time, however, it's more that he's taking stock of what's around him than of who's around him. either way, there is pent up excitement excitement excitement]

[Last night, Ophiuchus felt more keenly than any other area the rumblings and ravages of the earthquake. However, before the rumble even became a roar, the stones mended themselves, drawers righted... and the snake hissed its agitation and displeasure.

It would say nothing of the events... Only that he would speak to the King in the morning. As the torches start gathering light, the Guardian begins the evening with a fainter rumble than the night previous, and those Ophiuchus waking up, will find those changes again. Uraeus has once again reclaimed the top, while Uroboros is just a little behind. Caduceus...]

... Caduceus... Keepersss of the wessst.
