Sitting on the bedside table next to the bed Shane had been sleeping on in Bobby's house is a leather bound journal she left behind. It's a lot like John's, though not nearly as sophisticated in its knowledge. But it does account for all of Shane's own experience as the reincarnate of John Winchester and as a hunter, plus more than a few personal accounts. Her family growing up, and later John's family once she met Cassie and Lillie. Towards the end there's a few more recent entries. Meeting her demonic grandfather Elijah Savage, her face-to-face encounter with Gregory Delano and all the fears that had come with it. And finally, on the last page, just one line is written (after she received the phone call that lured her to her childhood home in South Carolina) and dated.
