”Terror hit this store’s Black Friday sale when a group of men in bear masks held up the store at gun point. Witnesses say the guns were shaped strangely, in a way that suggested they weren’t loaded with traditional bullets. While the men went around collecting their goods, one man, who appeared to be the leader, kept everyone’s attention with stories. Jody has more on the scene.”

The camera changes so that it’s pointed at a young blonde woman, bundled up and standing outside of a Wal*Mart. The wind his blowing her hair, and she looks freezing. Around her flashing blue and red lights illuminate the dark area.

“Thank you, Andrea. It was at this Wal*Mart behind me in the Clearmeadow Plaza that people’s Christmas Dreams turned to Christmas nightmares. Authorities on the scene say they’ve never seen anything quite like this, and they’re warning people that these suspects should be considered highly dangerous.”

The camera switches to the interior of the Wal*Mart, the same woman holding a mic to a mother who is holding an infant. The mother has tears in her eyes.

“It was awful. Just awful. People come here to get gifts for their children. This is a family store! And to think that people could do this..”

The camera switches to another witness, an elderly black man who looks indignant.

“I’m telling you it was like something out of a superhero movie. These men just come in in masks with guns while the one dude asks weird questions and tells us about his childhood and stuff. Nobody wants to hear that stuff, you know? Not when you got guns in your face. It’s unnerving. And that one guy they shot, he just started laughing. I ask him, you know, I look at him and I ask him what’s so funny? But he keeps laughing and laughing and then his face, I swear to god his face got all distorted like his muscles were seizing or something. It was horrible. Ain’t never seen anything like it.”

The camera returns to Jody, who pauses for a moment while waiting for the signal to speak.

“Authorities say the robbers are still out there and ask that anyone with information to please call your local authorities as soon as you can. The men are considered extremely dangerous and should not be approached under any circumstances. So far there has only been one casualty reported, but several shoppers are being treated in nearby hospitals in case of chemical contamination from the criminal’s weapons. Back to you Andrea.”

The camera shifts back to the news room.

“Can’t even imagine how scary that must have been for them. Coming up: you’ve seen the President pardon turkeys, but has a president ever pardoned a tree? President Trump is looking to start a new tradition where he saves a tree from being sent into one of a million American homes this Christmas. More on that after the break.”

The screen zooms in on a man with a too-white grin and blonde hair. He's wearing a suit, and holding a stack of papers as he stares straight into the camera. Behind him on the green screen is the terrorist threat level meter that resembles the confusing thermometer. Although it had been phased out five years prior by the government, it made for better sensational media when they could declare the terrorist threat level at red. The man switches to a somber expression as he begins reading from the teleprompter.

"This just in... We're getting reports of a terrorist attack in downtown Manhattan. Authorities are describing what sounds like a terrorist attack in the heart of the city in the form of some sort of chemical toxin. It is unknown at this time who is behind these attacks, though it is believed to be the work of reincarnates." The man shuffles the papers some and tugs at his tie. "Reincarnates have been at the heart of several terrorist attacks over the years, prompting many prominent politicians to argue over the ethical dilemma of dealing with them."

A woman says something off-screen that can't be heard on camera. The anchorman frowns. "Mayor de Blasio has declared a state of emergency, and emergency personnel are currently evacuating the surrounding areas. The total number of casualties has yet to be determined, but witnesses are describing bizarre symptoms. Most profound is a state of uncontrollable laughter right before death, and frozen smiles on the faces of the diseased that many are describing as unnatural. Mayer de Blasio advises that anyone who doesn't need to be out should shelter in place and await evacuation instructions. The chemical attacks are coinciding with a string of robberies around the city that have many speculating that this is a coordinated attack by a large group...."

”Authorities are scrambling to spread out their resources as a string of bank and jewelry store robberies began to get reported from all over New York City in the last hour, almost simultaneously. In every case the police have been called and reports are all saying the robbers came in wearing the same clown-like masks at every place they held up. A few injuries have already been reported, some in critical condition, but so far none of the perpetrators have been arrested, authorities showing up only minutes after each crime was committed. Currently we’re getting news that another robbery is already in progress in Queens that involves hostages, after several banks and establishments in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island have already been hit. Several eye witnesses and an anonymous source are theorizing that somehow, these criminals are all working together to take on these robberies at once to avoid police interference, while we’re also getting some reports of some extremely unusual activity out of downtown Manhattan itself…”

"... There are still no lead suspects in the explosion that took place earlier in the evening on December 24th, completely destroying Rockefeller Center's beloved Christmas tree. Onlookers who were lucky enough to be a safe distance away from the blast described it as sudden, erupting without warning at just around 6PM as the flames that ignited from it immediately engulfed the entire immediate area. The source of the explosion came from what appears to have been a home made bomb fashioned out of a children's toy, a Jack-in-the-box, according to police officials. We regret to confirm that in addition to the at least a dozen people reported with severe injuries, three were found dead at the scene. A grim way to spend Christmas Eve, and the NYPD is asking for any information that might shed some light on this troubling situation."
