ooc: Video footage from someone's cell phone that's later leaked on the internet, the time stamp of the video is 12:20PM, during the inauguration parade after the swearing in ceremony.

A girl with long, dark hair wearing jeans and a leather jacket with a hood over her head can be seen walking slowly through the crowd as it starts to part for her in the middle of the parade, people hurrying to put some distance between themselves and the brunette who appears to be almost entirely surrounded by a harsh, red glow around her. Any distinct features of hers are hard to make out from the fuzzy camera feed and the sheer distance of the phone's owner from her, except for a general face shape and pale white skin. You can hear the chanting and shouts of protestors on the sidelines nearby, but people in the parade suddenly start to shout over them, yelling what sound like warnings as she comes to a sudden stop, hands rising in the air in front of her as what looks like two balls of red fire appear in them. Her whole body starts to vibrate and convulse with the red glow around her, mouth opening in a shrill scream as she aims them for the front of the crowd. A huge explosion blows apart the front half of the parade, only narrowly missing the new president himself but taking out some of his supporters and military personnel near him. While the parade and those around it dissent into unmanageable chaos, the woman is nowhere to be found.

"It's been over two months since the mysterious virus ravaged the reincarnate community, and the CDC still has no further information on the source of the virus itself or its equally mysterious disappearance after two weeks of nonstop contagion. Senator Scott's political team is still refusing to answer to any of the rumors about their possible involvement in the epidemic, but what's maybe even more curious are the rumors currently floating around about another reincarnate-related phenomenon that some people believe occurred right under our noses during or right after the abrupt end to the spreading of the virus. We have a few sources saying they keep hearing the name 'Willette Sullivan' whispered among certain groups as someone rumored in direct connection to whatever this phenomenon was, some people even theorizing that it had some impact on the sudden disappearance of the virus itself. Willette Sullivan is a known reincarnate and mutant, with a reputation for being hostile and highly dangerous, rumored to have near-limitless powers at her disposal. If she was somehow involved in stopping the virus, does that make her some kind of hero? Or just another in a growing list of reincarnates to fear and watch out for? Should reincarnates with such god-like powers be allowed to roam free, unaccountable for their actions? Stay tuned. And now for a weather update..."

All shows around the country are interrupted at 11pm, Pacific Standard Time. The news anchor looks worried as she speaks to the camera.

"...This just in, a fire has broken out at the Regency Center in San Francisco. Police and firefighters have arrived on the scene, but are having trouble... somehow they're having trouble fighting the fire, which has started to blaze out of control at an accelerated pace. The building was hosting a party with a guest list of more then a hundred people when the fire first started. This list included government officials for the state of California. The party was a fundraiser for several anti-reincarnate groups, and it's not known at this time if the fire was arson, or simply a kitchen issue gone wrong."

The screen shows the building on fire, with the water from the hoses literally being repelled away, as if there was some kind of shield preventing them from hitting the flames. Three guests have made their way out, and are being helped over to waiting ambulances. The screen goes back to the news anchor, as she frowns and holds a hand to her ear where the earpiece is.

"I'm getting word now that so far three victims have made their way out of the building. They're giving officials some odd information... but each of them seem to be wearing bracelets that they did not have on before the fire started. Metal bracelets with... is this right?" She looks off screen for confirmation. "Metal bracelets with a name written on each of them." She recites the names of three reincarnates from those camps.

"We'll keep you updated as the situation progresses."

Reports are flooding in that the two other known facilities that were reported to be rehabilitation fronts for human experiments, Lake View Counseling Center and Three Oaks Counseling Center, were hit in the last week, almost identical to how Shady Vale Counseling Center was found the morning of April 21st. It is not yet known who was responsible for the extreme vandalism, except that many suspect it to have been at the hands of some powerful reincarnates. It's worth noting that every facility had already been shut down after the news of these underground experimentation sites broke, though not everything had been removed from the premises while further investigations by official authorities have been temporarily put on hold to accommodate the added cooperation of a couple reincarnate interest groups. All three vacated facilities were completely trashed from top to bottom, every door and window smashed in and what was left of any equipment destroyed and on display in the front lawn of each building. While the nature of them is not immediately clear because of how they were left, many speculate they are the remnants of various tools and machines that were used during these accused experiments. Anything that was left behind are now indistinguishable chunks of metal, broken apart and twisted into impossible shapes no human hands are capable of doing, and left in a furious heap outside of each center. Almost like a deliberate public message, except for the actual messages found written at each site. Authorities have yet to comment on any speculations as to the meaning behind them, though the meaning seems to be all too clear.

[ooc: The words 'Never Again' are burned into each pile of twisted metal, while the words 'No More' are scrawled on the front side of every building in a curious red lettering. If you stare at it for a few seconds, the word 'Humans' appears at the end, visible and glowing like an ember to read No More Humans.]

Stations all over the country abruptly cut to static, before changing to a singular feed that's broadcasted on every channel, on a loop. At first glance you might think it's a regular news station crew, but it's impossible to tell who or where. Four people are sitting in a row on a stage, tied to chairs. They've obviously been through some sort of physical trauma, judging by the state of their clothes and general appearance. Their bodies are bruised, cut, and bleeding, but the terror in their eyes is more unsettling than anything else. Willette Sullivan and her brother Mason are standing off to the side, in front of them. Two other figures, one might assume the tormentors, are standing just behind the chairs, clothed in all black and bathed in the shadows so you can't make out their faces. The people tied to chairs are struggling against their bindings, uttering muffled, high-pitched protests behind mouth gags. Willette glances at them, the hatred and anger plain on her face, before turning her attention to the camera.

"This is a message for reincarnates. The American government, the same ones sworn to serve and protect, have just confessed to us that they are the ones responsible for this deadly virus that is making reincarnates sick and now killing them. Go on, tell everyone what you just told me."

The hand of one of the anonymous figures rips the gag off of a woman tied to the farthest chair and the woman whimpers, tears streaming down her face as she cowers. It takes her several deep breaths and choking back sobs before she's able to speak. "I-it's true. We are... responsible." She's speaking with her head bowed you can barely hear her, until she speaks up fast and hysterically. "But it was not meant to be lethal! We were only trying to find a-a cure. For reincarnates. It was still in its trial phase. WE WERE ONLY TRYING TO MAKE YOU BETTER-"

Someone hits the woman across her face and she cries out before she's gagged again. The four people held captive and tied to chairs are all plainly injured, but they're still alive. For now. Willette turns back to the camera, a fire in her eyes.

"You heard her. These suits and scientists employed by Senator Scott and the U.S. Government were trying to cure us. Apparently, we all need curing. And instead we're all dying. I don't know about you, but I'm not just going to lie down and take this. Neither is the Resistance. Camelot and the Agency are still tolerating these monster's actions, so you can pick their side. Or pick the right side." The feed cuts to static again and the broadcast is gone.
