	It was worth it to John, to save his boys. It was worth it to Dean too, to save his brother. For these guys there was nothing more important then family, and Sam felt the same way ~~when he wasn't fucking Ruby~~. Okay. Long story short, Sam got tricked by Ruby. She got him to free Lucifer from his cage, and Sam was Lucifer's vessel. You know, the body that Lucifer needed to inhabit to walk freely on Earth, but unlike demons he couldn't just take his body by force. Sam had to say yes. And he did, just before the end. Just in time to throw his body and Lucifer with it back into the pit, to save Dean and everyone still standing.
