[ Vevina's voice is quiet but steady now. The volume solely determined by the sleeper currently curled up on her. ]

So, here's the thing.

I thought, given everything, it would be nice to have some homemade treats instead of ones that a fae of feasts or food or sweets magicked into existence—and, really, thank you for that, Ashtara, we all appreciate your efforts. So, as one does, I went to the Starlight Palace's kitchens. Since that's where you go to make food.

Apparently, I did not end up in the Starlight Palace's kitchens, but having never actually gone to the kitchen before, I was not aware of this until after I accidentally used the Unseelie King's workshop to create sentient Sugar Plum Fairy Dolls, Gingerbread Men, Marshmallow Snowmen, and something that might be burned molasses but I'm honestly not sure.

[Distantly, there is the sound of shouting. Something explodes.]

They've decided to wage war on each other as they each attempt to establish a sovereign kingdom.

This is my gift to you this Midwinter. If someone might be interested in helping negotiate a peace treaty, that would be great. If any of you more litigiously inclined fae want to defend me from the Unseelie King, that would also be great.

[A pause.

There's another explosion, a resounding shriek, and something like a canon sounds in the distance.]

They've weaponized the candy cane.

Please hurry.

[There's a few bars of violin music before George speaks.] You know, I do find I enjoy playing with company instead of alone. Does anyone else play an instrument by chance?

I don't believe we've been properly introduced, but I do hope you'll be willing to change that.

Considering what a mess there was earlier, should anyone feel that they'd prefer not to risk sleeping and encountering whatever mayhem that might entail... my services are always available.

So how many pieces did our benevolent lord leave you both in? I'd ask if I should be concerned, but I'm really not. You both knew better but apparently you were still too dense to think matters through.

[ Her voice is low and uncharacteristically subdued. ]

Have any of you seen him? Is he all right?

[ Merry told her about the punishment and while that is alarming, it's not all that has her worried by a long shot. ]

[There is the sound of people running and a few shrieks, the wail of nightmares mingling with reality, Robin's wisp is a flurry, darting to and fro, it's tendril's extended like that of a cat's whose fur is on end. Her voice is a mesh of anger and yes, fear. ]

What in the hell is going on?! Is everything okay?!

[OOC: This is during Timore and Sovan's fight, reality keeps shifting all scary like!]

[Her voice is flat. Distant]

I think I've been navigating the strange that constantly breaks off and tumbles toward me so often, fairly.

There is always a distinct feeling that I've seen it all before. But it is always right on the edge. Memories, existence, dreams.

I can't sleep.

[She's hesitant. Very unlike her. }

By now, who I am should be obvious considering you're wearing my name. But, I wanted to check that you were doing well and had enjoyed yourself.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I thoroughly enjoyed this venture. It was refreshing to...let go. I didn't even know I needed to let go.

[ His voice projects evenly; a shadowy, stoic quality to it. There is a trace of some unnamed emotion lingering beneath the surface. He's been gone a long while, and there are repercussions to that - some pleasant, some complicated. ]

In the interest of what we call fairness, I'm going to give to give the most recent, and most foolish, book thief the benefit of the doubt. Do return the copy of On Virtues and Lessons and you can continue to keep you skin upon your body.

[He really hates doing these, he hates drawing attention to himself at all, but needs must. So for now he’ll try to be short and to the point and hopefully that will work.]

Would anyone happen to know if there is a gramophone hidden somewhere here? I know that some machines don’t function well, but surely one of the older ones with a crank...

[The wisp trails off, uncertain. He really, really hates these sometimes.]

It isn’t necessary, of course, I simply thought it might be rather easier than trying to hunt down a full jazz ensemble.

[George sounds somewhat distracted which... isn't entirely unusual for him at times but this time he sounds a good deal more serious as well. Something's on his mind and there's only a few people he's willing to try talking to about it.]
