Week Seven -- Sunday to Saturday

Week Seven-- Sunday to Saturday

Month: Second week in December, Sunday to Saturday
Year: 2020

Week Six Overview:

Before the snow storm hit last week, Libby of the Wolves hosted a library slumber party. There was a decent turn out that included at least one person from every tribe. Some members of the Carrion even showed but managed to keep their identity hidden, for the most part anyway. Needless to say, the party went off without a hitch. As far as inter-tribal peace is concerned; well, that remains to be seen.

Apparently unaccounted for supplies have been dwindling from the Mountain Lion stockpile. Last Monday a group of four Mountain Lion boys, headed by female Lion mechanic Watts headed out into the elements on a tip to confront the supposed thieves. The Lions were armed and so willing to punish their supposed transgressors that they used their precious bullets against the drifters. The two drifters put up quite a fight and managed to take down one of the male Mountain Lions. The young Lion boy died the next morning.

Little of the Mountain Lion incident has reached the other tribes, save for the Wolves. The drifters sought refuge in the city and have now become temporary wards of the Wolves. They are residing in Wolf’s own house. So far there has been no trouble from nosey Mountain Lions, probably thanks to the severe weather Sundance has been experiencing.

Sundance was swallowed by a blizzard last Thursday afternoon followed by extremely high winds and white out conditions. Anyone who wanted to stay alive locked themselves inside and stayed there.

Week Seven:

Last week’s blizzard continues through Sunday and only shows signs of stopping late Monday night. Although this week’s weather proves to be kinder than last week’s, conditions are still exceedingly harsh outside and people are staying inside unless they absolutely have to go outside. Temperatures start to rise towards the end of the week but it’s nowhere near as warm as what the Sundance citizens are hoping for.

The River Runners have their first chance to check their supplies on Saturday and what they find is not good. Most of the grain they had stored in the barn’s loft was exposed to the elements when the roof was damaged. The grain that didn’t blow away in the storm froze and with the first signs of warmer temperatures becomes water-logged and un-edible. This means that over a quarter of the River Runner’s winter food supply is gone. Plans need to be made with other tribes if they hope to pull through the winter.

The snow is still too high for most people to get around and large snow-drifts have covered ditches and gullies. The landscape is next to unrecognizable and extremely dangerous. This means that the Wolves and the other tribes will not have a chance for another week to check on the conditions of their livestock. The Wolves on the farm who live in the main house run out of accessible fire wood and resort to breaking up the furniture on Sunday and Monday.

The two drifters who were attacked by the Mountain Lions still seek asylum with the Wolves. The Mountain Lions will have a meeting on Thursday to decide what will be done concerning the whole situation. Considering the weather and the state Watts claims they must be in it is believed that they could not have gone far.

The Twin Feathers will emerge from their tree-houses on Saturday in an attempt to clear the heavy snow from their roofs. The weight of the snow on the roofs is dangerous but so is the act of cleaning it off. One wrong move and it’s lights out.

The Carrion have a scare when their leader and another member of the tribe go missing for 24 hours. The hospital doors are blocked so a hospital-wide search is put into effect. The missing members will turn up on Monday evening.

Week Events:

Sunday-Monday: Carrion leader Sensei and scavenger Blaze go missing Sunday afternoon and re-appear Monday evening.

Sunday-Monday: The Wolves at the farm experience a shortage in firewood and cannot open their front doors, leading to the use of furniture as firewood. Anxiety and cabin fever set in with a few of the younger ones who worry the snow will never stop.

Wednesday: Mountain Lion meeting concerning the drifter incident held in the lodge conference room.

Saturday: River Runners assess damages to their goods and discuss plans for the winter.

Saturday: Twin Feathers Do their best to clean the heavy snow off of the tree-house roofs in an effort to prevent collapse. It’s dangerous work and one slip could mean a broken leg or worse.
