Week Eight: Sunday to Saturday

Week Eight-- Sunday to Saturday

Month: Third week in December, Sunday to Saturday
Year: 2020

Week Seven Overview:

Last week was rather quiet for Sundance. Most people remained snowed in and didn’t attempt to brave the walls of snow that had blanketed the area. Winter is the time of year when the tribes are confined to their own turf and with their own people. Despite the closeness and interdependence that exists between the members of each tribe there’s still hints of cabin fever and irritability that affects everyone.

The River Runners assessed their damages and had a tense meeting about the subject. Jed maintained his vocal position as the tribe’s second in command, since Gypsy is still out of commission with a cold that just won’t seem to go away. As it stands they do not have enough grain to last them through the winter. They could probably survive but if they suffer another snowfall like the one they just had they could be in big trouble and stranded without food is the last thing that any tribe wants.

Despite the presence of two drifters in the Wolf household things have remained quiet, at least in town. They still haven’t heard anything from the Mountain Lions, but at this point no news is probably good news. Still, there’s fear in Wolf’s heart that they’re merely waiting for better weather. Wolf ventured out into the snow with one of the drifter’s, Jace, and some horses to retrieve the weapon stash as soon as they were able to. The weapons are now safely hidden and under heavy surveillance somewhere in the city.

The Twin Feathers have faired well so far this winter. The snow has not been heavy enough to damage any of the canopy and their food stocks are still nice and full. They managed to clear most of the snow off without any injuries.

The Mountain Lions met and attempted to formulate a plan to deal with the two drifters that escaped their grasp. It is unclear what their exact plans are, but they won’t let the incident rest.

The Carrion are still holed up in their freezing hospital, their leader’s basement adventure not having yielded any results. Still, all members are healthy and accounted for and that’s good enough.

Week Eight:

Though the snow has stopped and preparations for Christmas have begun there’s still a lag in activity. Most people are remaining inside, because it’s still just too cold to have much fun outdoors. Tuesday evening brings a cold rain that lasts until Wednesday morning and leaves every outdoor surface covered in a beautiful layer of ice. Despite prayers for the stop of snow, the sky opens up again at the end of the week and adds two more inches to what’s already on the ground.

The River Runners are in trouble and this week they put several plans into action to save themselves. This winter has pushed them to ask favors of almost every tribe in the area.

The cold weather brings a herd of rats into the South Side hospital. It causes quite the ruckus. One of the children gets bitten by one in their sleep. The rats are merely looking for warmth and food, the same as their human companions but the Carrion won’t be as generous as the rats had hoped.

Christmas and New Years are fast approaching and the tribes start to prepare for their own celebrations, though not all of the residents are happy about the celebration that they feel is an archaic and morbid display of things lost.

Week Events:

Sunday-Saturday: The Carrion experience an uncomfortable surge in the rat population as the rodents move up from the sewer and into the hospital seeking food and warmth from their human neighbors. Some of the children have been bitten in their sleep, making it quite an annoying problem.

Friday-Saturday: All of the tribes prepare for Christmas and New Years in whatever way possible, food, decorations and unique gifts.
